The reason there isn't an uproar about this is because of the hypocrisy of the Liberal media not to report this incident very much.

I'm all for gay rights and everything, but seriously it's going a little too far. It's like any other bar you tell the person who's bugging you to piss off, not have them banned.

if they had a straights only bar, it would be considered racist and stuff. but gay only bar people say "well they want their space"
if there can be a gay only bar then there can be a straight only bar. and put it right next to the gay only bar. equalise things.

Well I think it's stupid to ban them. When you could just ask the specific trouble makers to leave. Of course this is a little different. I can see the reasons for both sides of the argument. They way I see it, we either have to let ALL private buisnesses deny WHOEVER they want, or make ALL buisnesses let in EVERYBODY - as long as there's a reason.

Thing is, can you imagine the outcry if you actually opened a straight bar? There would be hell from those laughingly refered to as "equal rights" campainers.

Equal rights would allow the opening of a straight bar, but the campainers would cry discrimination against gays, despite all of the above taking place.

Double standards are rife these days...

The real solution is that we need to get rid of anti-discrimination laws so we can do things like this.

I want to run businesses the way I want. If I don't want to serve blacks, I won't. If you think it's unjust then don't go there, let the free market decide.

The original was about Austrailia, but the exact same thing has just happened last week in Montreal ,Quebec.
Supposedly she was asked to leave the club because they only serve gays there.

In Canada, when you go into a licensed (for serving alcohol) establishment.
The owner or staff have the right to serve OR not serve anyone.
They do not have to serve you.<period>
They do not have to give a reason. <period>
They can have served you earlier & then cut you off & ask you to leave.<period>(also without providing a reason)

You have no right to argue.
You have no choice but to leave.
IF you do not leave they will call the police, the police will come & ask you to leave.
If you refuse you will be arrested & removed.

Your rights are not being violated, you don't have any.
Your a guest in a private business, that sells liquor, you are subject to ONE main rule.

& I've noticed it in many places throughout Canada.

So befor you go saying it's violateing your rights, you don't have any..... but if someone gives a discriminating reason for asking you to leave THAT leaves you open for litigation.
