such a good game, i dont own it but i'm certainly getting Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii when it comes out.
As for me... i'm not really sure, all games seem to have their moments, but they all die out eventually.

I dunno. HL2 was excellent, but Half Life's plot was nicer, plus it was completely groundbreaking for the time. The gameplay in HL2 was kinda similar to other alternatives, even if the graphics were unparallelled. It was the first game to have a decent plot and no real cutscenes, afaik. So immersive, and fresh, and awesome.
