Humans have an ego. This ego always tells them "i want more", "give me more", "mine". This ego is essentially selfish. All humans need this ego to survive for their needs. What is the one thing that temporarily satisfies the ego and gives the person pleasure? Mind altering drugs! How can that be the one thing? They never fail, they directly change brain chemistry!

The Plan-------

Money is only psychological, thus it is as strong as a motivation as a drug would be. Lets take a very powerful drug for example, methamphetamine. Methamphetamine (meth, ice, crystal, etc) DIRECTLY stimulates the pleasure center of the brain. People can become almost immediately addicted after a few uses. Meth gradually becomes more important to people then food, shelter, being healthy, etc. Getting people to work for meth would be a very huge motivation for them, that is once they are addicted.

Faq----

Wouldnt all the people be all fucked up and drugged?

No, the meth would be delivered infrequently. For example we get people to work for two weeks and then if they worked hard they get two bumps of meth. They would get scheduled diffrently. The main point is that people would work long and hard just for a small amount of meth. Basically they get little meth while being under the delusion that it is soooooooo important to them because they are addicted.

Where would the nation get the meth?

Meth would be manufactered in a seperate area away from the people. Meth process fumes can be toxic but the people would be away from that.

How would the people be ruled?

By a democratically elected president who promises a certain meth deal with them.

Any questions, just ask.

That would be a great idea for lowering the life expectancy 20 years or so.

Yeah, but wouldn't we all be wanting more constantly as we built up resistance? It would most likely lead to a war over meth control. In my opinion the perfect country is a communist country, the only issue is communism is only perfect on paper because humans are selfish idiots.

This is without a doubt the stupidest idea I've ever heard.

You forgot one thing. All those people will go to the meth producing factory and steal everything. Also, some guys in the governement may get corrupt. You never know when you get people addicted to stuff.

To post or not to post, that's the question.

Agreed. I'd rather be human and imperfect than drugged in a more impractical "Brave New World"-esque style of government.

What is wrong with selfishness? Being an egoïst is not Idiotic. It can be very rational. My own private welfare and luxury is far more important then the life of an anonoymous person.

That would be a good idea if you could make meth and at the same time make it impossible to make.

'kay, first of all, that is a Freudian term, the Id, Ego, and Superego, and thus if you follow other types of psychology, like behaviorism, or cognitive theories, or biological approaches or other types then this doesn't apply.

Mind altering drugs! How can that be the one thing? They never fail, they directly change brain chemistry!

Now, secondly, the only thing that gives the ego pleasure is doing whatever it wants. If my guilty pleasure is beating trees with spaghetti, then mind altering drugs isn't going to give me pleasure. My Id is going to continue to protest until either it gets what it wants, or my Ego steps in and says, no, we're going to mediate between you and the Superego, the guilt producing one.

The Plan-------

Money is only psychological, thus it is as strong as a motivation as a drug would be. Lets take a very powerful drug for example, methamphetamine.

So what? Some people aren't motivated by money. Some people are totally motivated by random things like bread or rare art or illegal goods (other than drugs). So there is no guarantee that this drugs instead of money would even work.

No, because a)this would quickly build up their tolerance as someone else said.
b)people wouldn't want to work, they'd be wasted or lack motivation or just be dying. Because if they don't have the drug and they're addicted and going through withdrawal, they're not going to want to sit around and do a job. They'll beat it out of someone else or steal it or something, but it's unlikely that they'll work for it.

Faq----

The main point is that people would work long and hard just for a small amount of meth. Basically they get little meth while being under the delusion that it is soooooooo important to them because they are addicted.

Again, if they were ADDICTED, they would go through withdrawal, and either be unable to work or they'd take the easier way out and steal it from someone else. Thus you get crime rates to go waaaaaaaaaaay up. Plus, if you're only giving them this small amount, they will, as was said previously, build up tolerance to it.

Where would the nation get the meth?

Meth would be manufactered in a seperate area away from the people. Meth process fumes can be toxic but the people would be away from that.

Um yes, but what about those people who are there making it? They're not going to be away from it and thus we'll have to decide who gets to work in these plants and ultimately be exposed to toxic chemicals day after day.

How would the people be ruled?

By a democratically elected president who promises a certain meth deal with them.

....That doesn't even make sense !! Gods above wo/man. We can't elect a quality leader now, and we condemn drugs, so you're proposing we elect the person who will give us the best deal on the drugs that will screw us up?

I also agree.

It's the same concept as money accept you are taking away people abilty to think rationally and shortening their life by about 30 years. If you think people are greedy, egotistical, erational mosters, than putting them on drugs is not going to help.

But it is an interesting analigy between money and methamphetamines.

What about the people who would make meth in their own basement, like they do now. It's like an easy way to counterfeit. Not to mention you could make it legally in a country with more relaxed drug laws and then smuggle it into said country.

If you payed your citizens in meth you'd have a huge illegal drug problem.

This would create the perfect nation actually! because all the mutants (losers who do drugs), would poison themselves, fuck their livers up, damage their organs (as they over work), not get sleep, and perhaps even begin fighting themselves for their rations of drugs. Eliminating themselves from gene pool, improving it, with those who arn't dead heads. And that they should live in slums, while those who chose not to do drugs, live in nicer areas.

It could also provide entertainment for us. we have a gladiator like arena and watch the mutant crack mom, kill the other mutant crack mom's kids (also crack heads), for a loaf of bread and a few crack rocks! lol.

If we do that, then who will bag my groceries?

>> Grocery stores are automating themselves, eliminating teller jobs! and soon they might have robotic machinery to bag groceries. So ha ha , on those illegal immergrants! We have found an EVEN cheaper alternative to their cheap alternative. Like what do you pay a machine? just electricity. ha ha ha.
