Anyone know how... Flash Intros?

I am a Fire Fighter and am creating a website for my dept. I was wondering if anyone is capable of creating flash intros for websites. I have looked all over and I cannot find any cool flash intros that would go good with a fire fighting theme.

OFD-General, you could have a look through the site FlashKit. They have lots of freebies that come in handy for flash, although you're going to need to have the program yourself to change up one of there intro's.

There are other places on the web to find animated intro's and the like.. do some google searching for things like animated flash site intros, free flash intro's etc. Something is bound to come up.

But if not, yes you could get one of us to do it.

I would vote to NOT make a flash intro. They're annoying and do not add anything to the site (one extra thing to click on before getting to the page). For some reason they became popular but, like page counters and animated gifs, will tend to give the site a 1996 look.

Instead, may I suggest to replace it for an element of the main page (which could be Flash)... for example a menu or a nice animated banner at the top of the page.

Whether or not his occupation is what he declares it to be, he still comes to us for one thing, a firefighter-related flash intro to his current in-progress website.

Hello, I can make you a nice intro for under $80.

Contact me via email for examples of my work, do not look at my flashes on Newgrounds, I have not submitted anything here for quite some time, due to the fact that I work more on projects like this than actual movies/games.

Again I can provide some examples, an estimate on price, etc. via email. I can produce a very professional intro however, due to being motivated by knowing you are giving me your money in return.

It is a business he is making this website for, the firefighting industry is a business, even though it is governmentally run.

If a business like Sony came to you and asked for you to make something for their website, would you do it for free? If you would then you truly are an incredibly generous person, but this virtue will not help you in capitalistic economic system like the USA (that is, if you live here, but you have not designated a location in your newgrounds profile so I can only assume).

Furthermore, it does not necessarily make us greedy for wanting to make some money for putting time into something for someone else.

And no, I don't ask my girlfriend to pay for me, I use my money... some of which I gain from doing projects like this xD

Yeh but people were making it out like because hes a fire fighter someone should do it for free. When for all we know he is getting a cheap job and selling the intro on to the real person in need of it, and for everyones information im not accusing, just suggesting. Theres just as much chance hes a genuine guy.

Exactly, therefore we should be kind enough not to worry what his occupation is, because we have a chance of being hired for a job. It's never a good idea to get into the personal business of and/or be rude to a potential customer.

So don't worry about what his job is, it's not important. All that's important is if he ever will return to this thread, and if so, who he may pick to do this job.

I really am a Full-Time Fire Fighter for Ottawa (IL) Fire Dept. I am actually only looking to post this intro/banner on my dept website and not to sell or give it to anyone else. I am a younger fire fighter and was asked by the older FireFighter's to create a website because most of them are computer illiterate. I just want to create a nice site for them.
