NBC is thinking of making a dating show for Gay men that would air on Bravo. Now this is how the show goes: one gay male will have to choose a suitable mate from 15 men. Some men are straight posing as gay men and some are gay. If He chooses a straight male then the straight guy walks away with a prize, if he chooses a gay male then he gets a cash prize and a vacation with his chosen partner. 99% of the people asked if the show should be aired disapproved.
In my opinion if shows like Queer as Folk are okay to air then why not a simple dating show? I have no problem with it at all, if you don’t like it change the channel.

I say thats good wholesome quality family t.v.
Hoo ray!! For the new show Boy meets Boy.If people dont like it dont watch. The straight guys posing as gays in order to win is genius and is a new twist on reality t.v.(not that we need more reality tv)

Queer as folk airs on cable therefore not many people oppose it yet if you research it alot of activist dint want the showed air,but this would air on nbc a channel viewed by all or able to viewed by all.Perfectly put if you dont like it change the channel.

I hate all reality shows, ESPECIALLY dating reality shows. The gay part doesn't bother me, its the disrespect for the main contestant. I mean, the guy chooses a lover, is supposed to fall in love, and then if it's a straight, he gets screwed? The show concept sucks, that's why I dont want it aired.
My band Sin City ScoundrelsOur song Vixen of Doom
HATE.
Because 2,000 years of "For God so loved the world" doesn't trump 1.2 million years of "Survival of the Fittest."

I would disapprove only because of the straight men posing as gay. Why should the straight guy get a prize if the gay guy chooses him? That's stupid and misleading.
Quote of the day: @Nysssa "What is the word I want to use here?" @freakapotimus "Taint".

it is kinda like the new show coming out where the guy has to pick b/t girls but what he doesn't know is that the girls get money if they are picked

Yup and they had 6,500 hits on the The Channel 11 news site.

If 6,500 votes were cast (which is what I think you're suggesting) then only 65 people voted for and 6,435 must have voted against.

I admit that reality TV bites but I love Fear Factor and shows like American Idol scout talent which gives people a chance to make it big.

Reality TV shits me.
So, I was addicted to American Idol. But that isn't people doing dangerous/stupid/hurtful things to themselves or others to make a buck or to get their 15 minutes of fame.
It's funny, really...they have to keep coming up with different ideas to keep reality tv fresh and appealing. I can see it now. We'll end up building an american version of the colliseum and feeding death-row inmates to lions. What would THOSE ratings be like!
All kidding aside, while I can't stand the 'bachelor' type shows, I don't think it should be cancelled because of the homosexuality. That's just silly.
You know what I just thought of, too?
We have all sorts of basic cable tv shows with gay characters, even gay leads. (I don't count Queer as Folk because it's on a cable channel that allows R-rated movies to air anyway). But I've noticed that these shows never ever EVER show serious male/male kisses. It's always comedic smooches, usually followed by funny faces, wiping of the mouth...all that.
Talk about hypocritical...I think it's Fox that had...some show. I never watched it, I can't remember the name, but it stars Tiffany Amber Thiesen (sp?). I recall seeing a commercial for one episode that called for Thiesen to make out with another chick. I guess it was part of one of her spy missions. But from what I understand, it was a huge, sloppy girl/girl kiss, and that was on basic cable.
Why is one alright, when the other isn't?
Feh.

I agree. Why do they have to make their own show for gays cant they just make a 4th season ans this time the contestant is gay.Its like with show like blind date, extreme dating, etc.why do they have seperate shows for black and white contestants.

Ahh, y'see...I never did watch Dawson's Creek. So I wouldn't know about that. But it's good to know that it's happening SOMEWHERE, I suppose. Makes it less hypocritical.
Btw...it's channel 4 or 32 here. ;) Not all channels are the same everywhere. It's on the WB here.

I've never watched AI and flat out refuse to. As for Fear Factor come on it's like that colliseaum mentioned earlier, if you suffer we give you money. Fuck that the only time I'm willing to suffer is for a good reason.

Gay men might watch it, or people who are REALLY bored.
