Yes, give sympathy to the people threatening someone's life. I'm pretty sure there's a rule against me threatening your life, I don't see why that rule wouldn't be adapted for the president.

I don't have sympathy for the idiots that made the threat. In fact its common sense that you just don't do it and this has sort of been long overdue. However, he didn't do it because he thought it was an actual threat. He did it to "teach someone a lesson".
