Hmm, something like this has to happen when I am for once of the forums.
Who would even give someone of high status death threats anyway? Whenever I want to do something political, I quote stephen colbert.
I still haven't forgiven the asians for pearl harbor.

No matter how gay of a reason it was to report it, it's completely obvious that they are in the internet... why would they NOT be there? lol
I don't know, judging from how WillPostForFood is acting, it wasn't really much for the greater concern of the people around him so much as it was for the sole purpose of being a dick and wasting everyone's time. Why Wade isn't pissed is beyond me.

I'd really like to know what the actual threat was, so I know how far we are aloud to speak.
I mean, I can understand shouting "FIRE" in a crowded room being illegal, as that directly threatens people around oneself, but how far can we take it concerning the president?
Also, something people should realize is that if someone was actually intending to harm the president, there's a large chance that they would not only NOT talk about it publicly, or on an extremely popular internet BBS, not to mention even with close friends.
I don't want anyone to kill Bush, or even harm him; though I don't have great respect for him, I think that it could be worse (Cheney, for instance). Besides, I'm not morally big on murder.
But this is too far.

And I mean, he seems awful proud of wasting Wade's, and the government's, time. Why isn't Wade going medieval on his account?

I support SS doing this, actually. What if a threat was real? I would not take any chances, and I would do what they are doing. I wouldn't say they are over-reacting, I say they are doing what they need to do.

Wade appears more upset by the "offenders" than the Gestapo.

"He did the right thing."
What irks me is his gloating. Talk about a lack of modesty, sheesh.

But judging from WillPostForFood's posts, it seems like he reported it out of spite. The "offender" probably didn't intend for this to happen. WillPostForFood did.

Honestly? The posts were harmless jokes.
In other words: no jokes about harming the president.

This thread seems pretty important! Especially since it adds to the amount of ways to get your account deleted. Why didn't you make it an "NG News" topic?

It'll be swell when they start making clauses to the Bill of Rights, Animal Farm style.

Did you guys see the deleted scene from Borat when he and Azomot were pulled over by the Secret Service; only because they were driving around in an ice cream van with a film crew in DC?
Did any of you hear about the time Enimem was investigated because a song he wrote had a line that said "I don't rap for dead presidents.... I rap to see the president dead."?
SEEEEEERIOUS BUSINESS.

I still don't think someone should have their account deleted in the futre for making a threat and being investigated by the SS, even if it wastes people's time. And if it is how that is going to be, the person who reported it should also be deleted because maybe if it weren't for them, the SS would not have found out.
Haha, I find it funny I was re-watching WKUK's "It's Illegal to Say..." when I opened this thread.
Some of you really need to do some reading before you claim your rights are being trampled.
The sig that I'm wearin? Awesomely made by Skaren!
Also, I like annoying Americans by calling English football "real football" and American football "rugby".-Lost-Chances

You don't really see the words "Bush" and "attention" in the same sentence.

Because he didn't do anyting wrong. The people he reported did something wrong. Something I have warned about many times over the years. Technically we (NG) should report any theats users make against the President. I'm not sure how that should be handled. However, if someone makes a threat, joke or not, people have the right (and some may feel morally obligated) to report it.
Again, the SS isn't spying on our forums, a user reported the users who made threats. Once a report is filed, the SS has to check into it.

The president gets dozens of phone calls a day, recieving threats all the time. Each is taken very seriously and MUST be dealt with. Kids are capable of killing just as well as adults.

George Bush has a big ol' silly-willy that i'd like to tickle.
In reality, with the greatness of the internet, any joke will probably be taken seriously. Considering the fact that nearly every recent shooting involved some internet savvy madman that spilled their emo-heart out all over the interwaves, i'm not too surprised that they paid a kid or two a visit. Mayhaps they'll end up even preventing some psycho from shooting up somewhere, however doubtful it may seem. Not that we'd hear about a "prevented" murder on the news anyways...
I don't imagine any of you are taking this lightly, but be wary, Bushies may be ON UR INTERNETS, INVESTIGATING UR KIDZ
