why immigration needs to be stopped

this immigration thing is really starting to piss me off, for a few reasons:

1-in school i used to see people writing "mexico #1" if it's so great; GO BACK THERE...
2-use of the word "cracker" is becoming commonplace everywhere, and we can't say anything back, or we'd be "racist"
3-a few months back, a schoolkid in Texas got in serious trouble for not standing up to sing the national anthem... the MEXICAN national anthem...
4-i used to come across spanish swear words almost every day in school, and, because no one can understand them, nobody gets in trouble...

Well, I see these things as reasons to re-evaluate how we're dealing with racial discrimination (i.e.: just making minorities more socially privileged than anyone else and pretending racism doesn't exist anymore isn't working), not a reason to stop immigration. Diversity is a good thing, it's how authority's been dealing with diversity's problems that leaves much to be desired.

There are other solutions though to just building a great big wall. For example, cracking down on employers who employ illegal Mexicans would be a good strategy to legalise the immigrants and so then pay taxes. There should also be immigrations reforms for temporary workers. They get paid more, and the government still gets it taxes. Obviously, the language issue is a problem. Then give them compulsory English lessons. This may cost quite a lot, but the benefits would be greater.

Another thing that can be done is co-ordinating with the Mexican government a strategy for reducing poverty and lack of education in the areas where most Mexicans move from. Soe people may say, 'this is not our problem' but if there were better living conditions at home, these immigrants wouldn't have to be your problem.
