oOkay, granted, it was originally made for another thread, but it was done in around ten minutes, so I figured it could be entered here too! I have recentely fallen in love with ballpoint pen, but I'm trying to practice up on Copics as well. Sadly, these two mediums don't mix well TwT

Anyway, you're really working it very hard, keep on it.

Hahhah... Hipi.
But beware, his instrument seems like it's melting. Feed your pet hipi with less acid or draw it with a more steady line... Otherwise it's a perfectly working cartoon "hipi".

This one is cool as hell. And pink looks terrific on her. So terrific I can't see it like a sketch, I see it more like a full-flegded illustration. I love it.

Hey, wait... you were trying to draw a fat lady? Sorry, It looks more like a lovely soon-to-be mum to me... Really lovely.

Maybe PunchOrBePunched, you and me should start a club... Really great artwork, by the way.

Well, I felt I had to draw something in order to make all these comments... So here you have it.
Do you notice something strange...? Yeah, no blue grid. It's because I noticed when doing my SB Tour '08 entry that I've passed too much time doing tiny drawings, so I needed a larger surface. It was hard at first, but it's really good for your... Uuuuh (need help here.)... for making steadier lines... I mean, that.
As usual, no eraser. Corrections take time and I want to make it as raw as possible, leaving the construction lines for all people who ask me how I do my drawings can actually see how I make them. Look carefully and you will notice.
Ok, I hope you like this one. 'Later!

Yes, she is supposed to be pregnant! :D (That's why I did a little baby handprint on her belly so people could tell she was "with child" and not all thin with a tubby tummy.)

Ok, I hope you like this one. 'Later!

This is nice, good detail and shading without overdoing it. The only problem is I'm not sure what its gender is.. I'm guessing it is a female based on the facial features, but her jaw and neck are a little manly. Other than that, nice sketch!

Good eye, I thought the same when I finished it. I try not to be too generic in this kind of drawing, though, that's why sometimes features are somewhat unclear about gender... (And the fact that I worked on a character who could pass for man or woman and something still remains from that...)
Looking at your sig... Don't you find that subject quite interesting?
Oh, I also made my point about your blog's subject.

Oh so you have been doing some stuff stuff on the sketchbook tour as well ? Do you remember the following things you have added on there?
It's getting a little bit hard to tell what your influences are to there are times you have been switching back and forth to both anime and northern style art.
I have been quite confused on how you usually put your characters in many different angles and poses as if they appeared in three D. Where did you get such a example?

Euh... Well I sent the paper last friday and... well, that's all... What was the question, again...?

It's getting a little bit hard to tell what your influences are to there are times you have been switching back and forth to both anime and northern style art.

I aim to be an accomplished artist... One day... Maybe never... Mm, well, the thing is that I like all sort of stuff and I love to research in how graphic style can affect the "mood" of your picture/story... Plus, it's really good for you.

I have been quite confused on how you usually put your characters in many different angles and poses as if they appeared in three D. Where did you get such a example?

I've just drawn with the extremely poor means within my reach (A tiny piece of crinkled paper and a tipless pencil on an overcrowded table. I had to twist my back so unnaturally that almost broke my spine in two or three parts.) something to illustrate this. No big deal, then. It had to be a "1-2 minute sketch"... Oh, the one on the left is just for compensate.
As you see, for this portrait, I first drew a ball, with two lines cutting it in halves: the vertical one for the center of the face and the horizontal one shows the position of the brow (or eyes, depending on your choice of facial proportions.) and the "tilt" of the face. From this line, I draw a square shape for the jaw. Then you just draw on top of that. Simple, isn't it?

Hey well that part sounds pretty easy but the most challenging part would probally trying to do same character in a whole different perspectives because I think you have to stay consistant with the designs of them.

Yeah... But practice makes perfection. Just be patient.

At 8/12/08 05:24 AM, Zhacross wrote: BING BING! Ico was the right answer. :)

But I made three guesses, so it was not big deal anyhow...

Well, this morning I went to work and almost killed my partner from a heart attack from the shock. I wasn't supposed to work today, so she was startled to see a person in the store. Thus, I went back home and worked a bit on portraits and stuff.
... But... I put a bunch of Helen Kane & Mae Questel songs in my WinAmp... So, eventually, I ended up making this sketch.
I think I'm succeeding in reaching one of my personal goals: drawing a competent, classical-looking Betty Boop, without redesignings of any kind. Of course it still looks like something I've drawn myself, but if you look the cartoons, you can see Betty's not really exactly drawn the same, the animator's personal style is really put into the drawings.
On this one, I also tried something discouraged when drawing Betty: Make her lift her head. She has no neck (Or it's so small it can't be seen.), so this is almost like trying to draw Mickey Mouse's head from upwards. And I say "almost" 'cause I think Betty's problem can be resolved... What do you think?
I hope you like it, and comments would be really welcome this time.

Yeah oh I wish I had any consideration of the time for the paitence seriously like their's only two weeks before school it starts I believe I am going to have to go through many breaks and weekends to get enough done with some of things take of I don't want my grades to go completely awall like when I when took Fundamentals of Technologies last year ... not quite sure how it will be going in Arts 3 because I Would think their expectencies would be high I have not taken a art class in nine months have not found enough will to some practice daily until recently. Believe I have to do things involved in three dimension other than painting and drawing. Boy am I screwed.

Tried to do a little practice on perspective and I'm very aware that it's not even that good. Did it with two different colors since I knew it wont be correct the first few times Tried to remember just about everything as I saw with only One look so far I can only get the basic construct of it.

My only advice in practicing perspective is using a ruler. It helps a lot. Otherwise it looks good freehanded, because that's very hard to do x_x;.

Learn about the Vanishing Point and try something more simple next time. Just try to understand before trying complex cases like a kitchen room.

Well... my last pic for today, I suppose. Yeah, it's another Betty Boop. This time more finished, and, yes, it's from my sketch notebook so, hello again to blue grid...
I really hope you like it.

He looks like a cross between Till from Rammstein, a gorilla, and some Victorian fellow with mutton chops.
