the word "anorexia" comes to mind. you gotta stop thinking about how free it is, just choose a good end result, and work to that, if you want the end result to be free, then you dont have to draw free (i know what free is, when your drawing like that, i used to do it in school) just make sure you hit the end result, and thats all that matters.
The words 'conceptual representation' and 'just a bit of fun' come to mind. What can I say, I like my women with a healthy dose of eating disorders, is that an oxymoron?
About the 'freedom' of my spontaneous sketches, I say each to his or her own. Perhaps if I was working for a graphics company and spending hours on a picture I would ditch the spontaneous sketchy style. But these are 15 minute sketches, I'd rather create something that conveys the fun of the drawing process rather than a clean polished picture. In quick exercises like this I think the end result is the least important aspect, for me the process is much more interesting and important.
But that's just me, I love seeing some of the polished drawings on here, and I really admire anyone who can realise a decent end result in just 15 minutes. You make a good point reality-monkey but its always good to try different things, like magic mushrooms.
