???Are We Safe???
Does anybody even know what can happen to the world if we were to use Nuclear Warheads in the war??? I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be here today... Yeah I'm sure we have Patriot Missles, but will that stop a Nuke... We don't know we never used the to blow up a Nuke before... If anyone is from the War or something tell me are we safe???

It's impossible to say we are safe. Because technically, it's impossible to prove something is impossible.

I'd prefer you didn't feel me. I'm rather tender.

Noone can guarantee your safety,no president whoever god like he presents himself can say his country is safe only for the time being. In NY we were under plan atlas a high alert state with lots of police in strategic safety points. That same night 2 drunks climbed the brooklyn or manhattan bridge without being noticed this his how safe we are.

You're just one for the Matrix-esque deep meanings.

Were all going to die some day, and it doesnt really matter if what kills us is a nuke, or a pistol, or bloodclot from a bruised knee. I think we all need to mature enough to accept death, and move on with our lives, rather than cowering in fear every time a new way to die crops up.

If there were no tomorrow, I'd rob a bank, find JimSween, and kick him in the face repeatedly while wearing a Nixon mask and yelling "Taste the pain, Bitch!"

Much as I hate to admit it Judge has a point. Living like there's no tomorrow can lead to a lot of regrets. Man this one time in the monkey house at the zoo... Umnh I should go now.

I upsets me to think that we have no control over things like that but it is true no one can ensure your safety not even yourself. The world is a crazy place and no matter who tries to reform our crazy ways it still won’t make you unconditionally safe.

You just need to accept the fact that all forms of control are inherently flawed conceptually and start walking. Eventually you might end up somewhere cool.

Does Hiroshima and Nagasaki ring a bell? No one was spared in that spectacular example of mass destruction.

hold onto your hats everyone

The American army was the first one that used an authentic weapon of mass destruction on a civilian population.

*gasp*

If America used Nuclear Warheads during thw war, every single country in the UN qould impose sanctions on tham automaticlly and immediately. They would be absolutely buggered.

accually, i read once that if nuclear war starts, the United Nations can authourize every nation in the world to use their Nuclear payload on the agressor- so if, say, North Korea nuked Japan, then Russia, China, India, America, ANY NATION can nuke the North in retailiation without any fault been brough by the UN....

I think that is right. Regardless of the fact though, the country that launched the Nuke in the first place is well and truly fucked.

Actually, we'd be all fucked since nuclear mushroom clouds go around the world like any other cloud and eventually coes back down to earth as rain....nuclear rain. Joy.

Not all fucked. Anywhere hit by a nuke would be, of course. It doen't fall as rain, not as bad as you might think and it wouldn't fall on all the world. Nethertheless, it still is a pretty grim thought, and why I have always said Nuclear Weapons need to be disarmed, all over the world, everywhere. With no exceptions.

Many of you might be scared of nukes, but remember if your area was hit by a nuke u most likly die in an milisecond thereore feling no pain. Isn't that a better way to die then being old and fetal where u can't even shit for yourself. We all need to come to acceptance wit death and live our lives like we want to.

I know that this is a post for another topic, but I agree with you. Modern medicine has allowed people to live to ages like 90 and 100, until they get to the point where they can't live like a human being.

For those of us who want to die quickly there's always suicide, which can be rather less painless if you want it to be then a nuclear blast.
Second of all, what if you are not in the area of the explosion, or you somehow are not killed by it (like it happened before), you become a rotting zombie because of the radiation dose you receive and then I could guess your death can be even more unpleasant than living until the age of 90.

Those werent nuclear warheads, a nuclear weapon has 10,000 times the punch of an atomic one.

Uhh no, the V2 rockets are WMD's, or were at that time.

And we saved more japanese than we killed with that bomb, anyone who knows anything about WW2 knows that.

Well bum, the US is the only country with a protocal that prohibits them from using a nuke unless there is a direct threat from another nuke, and along with Russia, the only ones with a protocall that forces them to communicate with the enemy when a UFO is sighted to prevent Nuke useage. Britan and France are much more likely to use a Nuke first.

No, we have to have dircet conformation that they are preparing to launch a nuke. Since we have the fastes launch capabilities of nukes we can disable thier silo's before they are done fueling ro something like that. They have to be preparing to launch a WMD immedeatly for USA to attack, but for any other country they can attack at any time they want to.
