I really hope no one on the FL team is planning on using stock patches for the vsts... =O.
I have an issue with such things :P
So whats the track name gonna be?
NG Allstars - Shake that G string (What the hell have we done?!?! 2k7 Edit)?

LJ's right Hawk. Pick and team and we'll be sure to shove more knowledge down your throat then you would think humanly possible. Thats what i'm expecting from working with B0UNC3 and DJ Runaway.
You two better make me an electronic GOD you hear me >:(!!!!

I haven't submitted to NG since all my work was pure shit, so I'll be on FL team.

Because of you guys words of encouragement, I've decided to join the FL team. I need to force myself into working on a song, anyways, and this is a great opportunity.
So the FL team, that is, if that now is possible.

No, we can save our own presets we make.

HAHA!! No, seriously, we need to decide once its done and create an account that will submit them. We should also (maybe) tell Tom about this.

Agreed. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn some MASTER TRICKS. Also, I think that everyone who participated should get a copy of the finished file, flp or whatever format reason uses.

don't forget Hawk.
FL users get to use the FL Notebook, so when we throw the file back and forth, you can write in detail what you did and how for everybody else!
I'm really going to rely on this to learn some new tricks, so you guys don't get lazy and be like
"Meh... added stuff
took stuff
mixed stuff!"

Aha. Well, actually, I'm not really intrested in learning new tricks. I just want to participate in this collab for fun so I'll have something to do.
I am a type that doesn't like to learn through others. I want to do it all myself, experiment my way forward. Maybe pick some inspiration up from other songs to get some ideas, but that's about it.
Anyways, I really suck at describing changes and instructions, so not sure if I can really satisfy you people on the notebook part.

Shit sorry for double...my cat stepped on the keyboard.
Speaking of *nothing*...
What compression should we all use?
NONE ftw! Master later when the track is done!?Also headroom differences will be REALLY noticable if there is different compression on each part. *MASTER BUS COMPRESSION*
What DB threshold should we all work with?
If part 2 is clipping and part 3 is going at like -20db it WILL sound noobish and shitty.
I can take care of my own part and such, but I'm only mentioning this because it is crucial for the final result of the WHOLE track.
Do we want it to be 1 single track or do we want it to be a "megamix"?
Maybe I missed something....=/

Oh ok Maestro, then yeah maybe just throw something in at the end lol.
I have a quick question, what version of FL are we supposed to be using?

Seems like I am up for a major degrade of FL. I'm using 7.

I agree. We should do none and let the best one master the whole thing.

I don't really know, but I guess there is a default one, and the last person, AKA the masterer, can set it so it doesn't clip.
Do we want it to be 1 single track or do we want it to be a "megamix"?
Single track, so it sounds smooth and people can work on others.

Hmm, I use 6. We should start with the 6- users and let the 7 users go later.

do we add our segments together or do we try to flesh out one song?
I would recommend the former as... well... trying to all work on one song is like boredome having mercy on the Amish.
If we add to the song like the art collabs, in segments, then I suppose Hawk you can start on it right away.
Then when we have all the segments we can discuss them, change them, etc.

I really dont see how this is gonna prove which program is better, you can get the exact outcomes on both programs, it all depends who's running it and what your plugins & skills are.
on that note, I still wanna see who's gonna win, I'm cheering for the FLopps!

I'm gonna put it out right now.
I have no clue what I am doing at all ever with any sort of music production.
With that having been said, when I get my hands on the file, I'm gonna start hacking away on my keyboard.

lol, I was just kidding. I know a bit of musical theory, but anything you can contribute can't possibly hurt :D

Lmao. Have most of you music producers even ever played an instrument? If not, then I find it strange, because by playing an instrument, you get basic music theory knowledge, which I find essential in order to become a good producer.

Well, I don't really know either, but its fun and can teach us a lot! There are also some advantages/disadvantages to both, so whichever comes out better "wins."

We add our segments together, and make them sound nice and connected rather than random crap mixed together.

We all should play an instrument (euphonium ftw) but there are also basic music classes that you can take to learn music. They can be VERY HARD if you don't play an instrument, but laughably easy if you do.

Most people do play something, but listen to MaestroRage if you think that an instrument is "Essential" to being a good producer. He proves your little theory wrong ;)

Yeah yeah, I know what your saying. Take a maelstrom and put on sawtooth then turn it up all the way. Add 5 scream distortions put the damage control all the way up, then set them all to warp.
