It's just a little bit of exposure. What makes my flash less worthy of it than theirs? The next time I put forth a shitload of effort into a flash, if it gets swept away by a mass spam, I wouldn't feel cheated, but rather I would applaud whatever group coordinated it, since they are clearly masters of the mass vote, and are only filling Newgrounds with joyous spam. I love spam. It entertains me more than most "legitimate" flash does. I'd take three hours of B over Lord of the Rings any day.

We really didn't. It was more or less a fun community joke that went awry.

We as in clocks. You are 13 , and have only 5 months on me. That isn't grounds to mock my status.

Hey now. Flossy earned his clockification fair and square. As for Wade, I think he's kind of just in the hot seat right now. As he said, he had no foreknowledge of this, all he knows is that he walked into a flurry of angry, angsty PMs from Newgrounders who want him to deal with a spam flood, and that, after doing what was expected of him from that part of the community, gets another flurry of complaints from the offended side of the matter. As the saying goes, you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time. I'm pretty sure Wade would rather not deal with this right now, so why don't we just end this here, and Wade can talk it out with us over the next few days, get the whole picture from the inside, so he knows why we're angry at it all.

That all seems pretty wrong to me.

You attacked the portal by disrupting how it was designed to work. As such everything got deleted. Stop crying
On the last Daily Day, the EXACT same thing happened though. All entries were total shit, and they made the portal overflow well past the 50 limit.

Let us examine what Tom/Wade Fulp did back then. They made a collection to commemorate the day, frontpaged one of the shitty submissions, and publicized the Daily Day with a frontpage posting.

Yet, this is no different at all. Oh wait, there is one difference. A few of the duck submissions were actually entertaining.

Anyways--I think the reason for the overreaction is because about an hour right before the duck submissions, there was a bonusstage portal bomb that flooded the portal. The admins possibly were still in a deleting mood perhaps.....

Hopefully, they figure out that this wasn't a true portal flood and let the Duck Day happen again.

We didn't cram all of our submissions into a minute. Hell, even the mass submitting which Wade did oppose (The Mole Movies) were submitted over an hour, and were only 20 movies, and that shit DID piss Wade off, and I BARELY got away with it.

Daily Day wasn't about submitting everything at once. What the hell is the point in that?

The whole thing was a joke from start to finish. Deny it as much as you won't (I don't know why you would, it's kinda pointless), but the whole thing was intended as a joke.

Loki raises a good point, and now I almost feel bad for Wade. He returns from eating his cup-of-noodles in the NG break room, only to find what was supposed to be an uneventful weekend of watching the site interrupted.

It must be like like joining the national guard the DAY before a war is started.

As you know, what happens is a passing flash stays in the gray but disappears after passing because it goes so low on the list. The same thing happens with flagged entries whos flags are cleared, might want to fix that...

Also, as for portal floods, stuff like this is okay to remove, because they would pass like you said, I saw ducks(spammy dancing modified duck.fla) in the graveyard with 2.00+ but stuff like "arthur farts long!" being flooded should just be blammed so people get the points. Kinda irrelevant, but meh.

I guess a lot of you boneheads just don't get it. What you did was mess with someones business. You abused a privilege provided by said business. You're lucky your current accounts haven't been deleted. I'd suggest that Wade and the rest of the admin staff do so and do everything in their power to prevent you from opening new accounts. Do you actually think that you have the right to fuck with the livelihood of another individual?

Not only has your ill-considered little prank affected the business of Newgrounds, it affected the submissions of real artists and game producers who rely on Newgrounds to get their product out there. It's more than possible to consider a flash artist/developer could use Newgrounds submissions/ratings to promote their work to potential employers as it is a well known flash submission site.

You're a bunch of selfish children who cannot even think about anything beyond their own noses. Grow up.

O' Rly? Lol

JA RLY LOL, that was the original thread where the idea started. The official thread which we had up (and moved in order to keep from any more unwanted attention to people who have nothing to do with this) was not a term of attack by any mean. The Clock Crew genuinely loves newgrounds, and although we did have mischievous intent we did not have malicious intent. We simply saw an opportunity to make a joke, and well I guess you folks didn't get it. In fact rather than nitpick and point the finger if you really want to get down to it here's a thread that had a lot of the content involved in Duck Day. This is where the good shit
is.
For those of you who are actually interested in finding out what we were thinking as opposed to those interested in finding some way to persecute.

WHOOPS!

you clearly dont even remember the first daily day. maybe your memory got clouded by the second and third daily day, because compared to them it was extremely small. the 35 submissions werent submitted all at once, they were submitted all throughout the day. although the quality may not have been too high, there were more good quality submissions on that day then there were today, and ALL of them took much longer than 10 minutes to make. there was also plenty of warning before daily day... 99 fucking episodes leading up to number 100. and you cant use that same argument for daily day 2 and 3 because there were so many good quality entries on those days.

so you're back to stage one i guess

And to everyone saying there was quality in some of them. You're absolutely right. I saw a duckhunt.fla thing by leekclock which was pretty good, and there was probably others. The problem is, they where all submitted with similar names and same 46*46, not to mention there where about 100 of em.

Heres a weird analogy: You are standing at the top of a cliff with a huge sack of about 50 active timebombs. Three of them are not active and have solid gold centers, yet they all look almost identical. you can look at the bottom of them to see if they are marked "gold" or "deadly."
THEY WILL BLOW UP IN 30 SECONDS. YOU CAN THROW ALL OF THEM OFF THE CLIFF OR START CHECKING TO SEE WHICH ONES ARE GOLD. WHAT WILL YOU DO.
