Of all 100 i hated except 2 of them. I had a story about the duck fighting a wizard with decent graphics and the other had a kinda cool song Alfie but that one had pretty crappy graphics.

No kidding. I don't think anybody wants to stay with one thing on the computor for about 6 years! It's just common sense that none of the original members are around. And sure, others have joined, but that's what makes it so great. If the CC was the same CC the whole 6 years, it would be rather boring, and I think many will agree. Seeing the same, (shining bright, none the less) faces everyday.

I feel the following excerpt (from the fine literary achievement, Ghostbusters, written by Dan Akroyd & Harold Ramis) is appropriate at this point:

INT. BASEMENT -- LATER

Spengler is arguing with Peck. Louis is sitting quietly in the corner,
watching the argument with interest.

PECK
(high-handed)
I want to see what's in there. Now either
you shut off those "beams" or we'll shut
them off for you.

SPENGLER
(calmly)
You can see what's inside through the
monitor if you wish.

He switches it on.

PECK
(ignores it)
I'm not interested in TV right now.

EXT. FIREHALL

Venkman arrives in a taxi, sees the police cars parked outside and dashes
in.

INT. BASEMENT

The argument is still going on when Venkman enters and asserts himself.

VENKMAN
(to Policemen)
At ease, Officers. I'm Peter Venkman. I
think there's been some kind of
misunderstanding here and I want to cooperate
in every way I can.

PECK
(turns on him immediately)
Forget it, Venkman. You had your chance to
cooperate but you thought it was more fun to
insult me. Now it's my turn, smart-ass.

SPENGLER
(excited)
He wants to shut down the storage grid.

VENKMAN
If you turn that thing off we won't be
responsible for the consequences.

PECK
On the contrary! You will be held
completely responsible.
(to the Con-Ed Man)
Turn it off.

The CON-ED MAN steps to the control panel and looks at the switches,
meters and chasing lights.

VENKMAN
(to the Con-Ed Man)
Don't do it! I'm warning you.

THE CON-ED MAN

He looks nervously at the Police Captain.

CON-ED MAN
I've never seen anything like this before.
I don't know ...

PECK
(enraged)
Just do it, fella. Nobody asked for your
opinion.

The Con-Ed Man reaches for a switch but Venkman grabs him from behind.

VENKMAN
(to the Con-Ed Man)
Don't be a jerk!

The Cops grab Venkman and drag him off the Con-Ed Man.

PECK
If he tries that again, shoot him.

The Captain looks at Peck with contempt.

CAPTAIN
(to Peck)
You do your job, pencil-neck. Don't tell
us how to do ours.

VENKMAN
Thank you, Officer.

PECK
(to Con-Ed Man)
Now turn it off.

The Cops slacken their hold on Venkman. He looks at Spengler, worried.

SPENGLER

He mimes an explosion with his hands.

VENKMAN

He nods and backs towards the door. Spengler gets the same thought.

LOUIS

He sees Spengler backing away and starts to do the same.

CONTROL PANEL

The Con-Ed Man turns all the switches to the OFF position. The panel
lights go out.

POWER METER

The needle indicator drops to zero.

PECK

He feels the floor start to shake.

VENKMAN, SPENGLER AND LOUIS

They run like crazy for the stairs. Spengler grabs Janine on the way out.

THE STORAGE FACILITY

A strange light starts to leak through the cracks between the concrete
blocks. Suddenly one of the blocks is blown across the room.

Look, without being 'cool' for iether agreeing or disagreeing with the Sainted Wade or Hallowed CC, I'm sure - short of tempters winding each other up more - by the next few days are out they'll be an apology from the CC for not taking into account the unfair consequences on the other artists submissions, for simply putting more value on thier prank than those artists efforts.

Guys, chill and don't antagonise each other {pro/anti duck flashers}, talk to each other rather than big sweeping statments.

To be honest as an organizer (I'll admit I helped organize) I only expected maybe 60-70 entries and it would basically be one quick breath of duck movies, and then we'd all laugh. (And by we I mean Newgrounds and the CC) Sorry you took it the wrong way and sorry it got chaotic.

I think that last paragraph summarizes the crux of this little fiasco.

Problems:

-These duck day people made a bad move by slinging tons of duck flashes at the portal with no warning.
*The least you could've done was made a forum warning about it at least a week in advance and/or given notice to the NG admins so they could designate today Duck Day so other artists wouldn't have to contend with the duck barrage.

-Because there was no advance warning, the NG higher ups had to assume the worst and made a kneejerk reaction, resulting in a lot of blammed flashes, site hosting revocation, and unhappy clock people.

Overall I'd rather the issue was dropped until both sides have a chance to cool down rather than take out said frustrations on each other. This little trainwreck isn't going to get any prettier if every stands on the ruins shouting over if it was fair or not.

Wade, we understand that you have a site to run while your brothers away, but fucking hell give the internet a break from you trying to prove you have some authority around here other than a ban button. Anyone could have just left the movies, or at least talked to the people involved before making such harsh decisions on the them.

You instantly assume it's an attack just because as a group we're in the same vein as the kitty krew for example, but all we want is to have a laugh with ourselves and everyone else here at NG. it seems that a joke can no longer be taken here anymore.

No, I'm simply trying to explain simple logic to a bunch of dumbasses. It takes me months to produce a good flash entry. I'd be pretty pissed if I had worked on something for months and then on the day I submitted it all the sudden a bunch of faggotry duck movies flood it out of the way. and even if they weren't, I'd still think "duck day" (or "duck five minutes") was stupid.

I actually thought there'd be only 30 cartoons altogether, but than many non-clocks started getting in on it to (a lot of other spinoff groups and random NGers), then more clocks started submitting more, and it got way out of hand really fast.
That's how it happened in my eyes.
