Which old witch? The wicked witch!
Yes, kids, Jerry Falwell is dead and the level of rationality and logic got a slight bump up in the numbers today. Now don't get me wrong... It's sad that he died. It's going to be very rough for his friends and family, but to the rest of the world, he was an ignorant, intolerant piece of shit. Now if Pat will kick the bucket...

You're kidding, right?
Falwell, after the Lawrence v. Texas case was decided, said: "This is probably as bad a day as the court has had on social issues since "Roe v Wade."
"And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way -- all of them who have tried to secularize America -- I point the finger in their face and say, "You helped this happen."-- Falwell in the Washington Post, blaming people for 9/11 on 9/14/01.
Hell, in 1958, he said "If Chief Justice Warren and his associates had known God’s word and had desired to do the Lord’s will, I am quite confident that the 1954 decision would never have been made…. The facilities should be separate. When God has drawn a line of distinction, we should not attempt to cross that line.”

YYYYAAAAAAYYYYYY It is so nice to hear good news!
I remember this dumb fuck from 9/11.
He was one of those out of control religious evangelists.
Moral Majority, good riddance.
Hated anyone who didn't believe as he did, total asshole.
Anyone who would come out after 9/11 & say it was everyones own fault because of abortion rights, gays & lesbian rights, (you know he was a closet racist , his own mouth kept getting him in trouble) an absolutely heartless scum sucker.
I wish there really was a hell, it's a place perfect for Jerry Falwel. too bad it doesn't exist.

He was not a great man.
But I forgave him in my heart for being the way he was. He may have been a fanatic, and he upsetted me quite a few times for posting those names of those gay people and saying how they're suffering in Hell.
And now it's my time where I could, really, do the same to him now that he's dead.
But I learned from how he's hurt my heart, so-- I've turned my other cheek to him.
I wish him and his family to be well off. While I believe he isn't even the shadow of a shadow of a great man-- I only have love in my heart for him when he may have only hate for me when he was alive.
And I hope that what I'm doing will be a lesson to people on how to behave decently, one way how Christ may have acted towards his enemies. In the end, we must learn to love to benefit not only for ourselves but most importantly for others.

Doesn't matter. He still said it. Mel Gibson said the same sort of crap (not about 9/11, as far as I know, but, meh), and no one's forgiven him...

Big government is one that is excessively large or intrusive. I see no excess there.

He echoes the same sort of arguments ALL THE TIME.
Anyway--
The case I mentioned is about the government of Texas' punishment of sodomy...When the government can mess with who you mess with, there's something wrong.

Well... Jerry Falwell's in Heaven now. He's fucking his mother in an outhouse and drinking Campari before conducting a sermon... for all eternity.
For reference, google "Jerry Falwell Campari ad".
Anyway, I don't think that his friends and family are glad that he's dead. He did have a rather big following. They'll be sad to see him go. I won't, though. I'm not a fan of his in any way. I believe that his comments on homosexuals and women that get abortions are horrible and in no way reflect the message of Jesus. If I can take anything good away from his death, it's this: he can't spread his hate anymore. I don't take any sort of sick glee out of his death.

"I do not believe the homosexual community deserves minority status. One's misbehavior does not qualify him or her for minority status. Blacks, Hispanics, women, etc. are God-ordained minorities who do indeed deserve minority status." -- Jerry Falwell...
Not only does he believe that women are a minority, he's an idiot. He endorsed OLIVER NORTH for a senate seat!
"“AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals” --Falwell
"“If you're not a born-again Christian, you're a failure as a human being”-- Oh, guess who? Falwell.
What an idiot the man was.
I can't stand the man...but the ad, I think, is hilarious!

I actually agree with you HI. We can't keep claiming that we're the party of small gov't and bitch about the court saying that people have the right to be left the hell alone.
Doesn't matter. He still said it. Mel Gibson said the same sort of crap (not about 9/11, as far as I know, but, meh), and no one's forgiven him...
Two differences.
1. Gibson was drunk. Falwell wasn't.
2. Gibson was a belligerant drunk who said things to piss off the officers. He was a mean drunk. Falwell meant every word he said, and only apologized cause it brought him shit.

While that may be true (segregation < genocide), the idea is there.

Actually I am quite serious. Looking through your earlier posts, I notice that you yourself enjoy putting down others who don't believe the same way you do.
I'm not sure what you mean... I was saddened by the terrible event of 9/11, this asshole went on T.V. & said it was "our own fault"
I'm sure Falwell was just as saddened by that tragic event. People say and do a lot of irrational things when they're upset, just like you are doing.
Why me?I wish there really was a hell, it's a place perfect for Jerry Falwel.By this reasoning, people like you should also be sent there as well.
You were accusing Falwell of being "an asshole, scum sucker, etc." and you stated that he should rot in hell for it. You act irrational as well at times. So by this judgment you have made, you have also judged yourself in the same manner you have judged him.
I believe everyone should have the same rights as anyone else.
As do I, so long as said rights are not used to infringe on the rights of others.
Also as a male member of this species I do not feel I have any right to tell a pregnant female whether she should or should not have an abortion.
So instead of taking responsibility for one's action, the best thing to do would be to bury it somewhere and forget about it? You would certainly make an politician.
Also I have friends who are not hetro like I am. They deserve every right under the law as I do .
True.
; God told me.too bad it doesn't exist. How do you know?
Yes of course. It's so obvious. <sarcasm>

Dude, I'm sorry, but he was not awesome. I'm not happy that he's dead, but I'm certainly not saddened either. He blamed gays and feminists for 9/11. And when called on it, he DID NOT apologize. He lied through his teeth and said he was misquoted.
