Get A Wacom, If You Can't - Save Up...
I've Tried Other Tablets... And They Just Don't Have The Feel And Performance A Wacom Has... And DON"T Get A 4x5 ... Thats Way Too Small :( Find One At Costco, Or Newegg.... Good Prices There

Yeah, I have been looking at some 6X8's with programmable buttons, Pressure sensitive etc. Not sure if they where wacoms though.
But they looked and sounded good.

Don't mistake a lot of lines for "detail." Not to be an ass, it was just a lot of lines over the basic outline of a face. And topic starter, i think you should practice drawing on paper a lot, it will help a ton switching to the tablet, and...well, i wasn't very good when i got my tablet, so i dont know, keep practicing?
In Honor Of Spider-Man 3 The Movie... VENOM, MEGA-ULTRA-SUPER-DUPER-SIZED... And Spider-Man :S

Some people (me) prefer to have a smaller tablet. I have a pretty profound tremor in my hands and with the smaller tablet I don't have to move my wrist/arm as much and my lines aren't quite as bad as they would be otherwise. Just something to consider.
This sig is 100% effective protection from all hexes, curses, evil spirits and bad karma. Guaranteed.
I agree with Savvas, sketchbook pro is awesome.
however if you want to learn to digitally paint, id say get corel painter along with sketchbook pro and pick up the book by don seegmiller...i forget what it is actually called but they have one for photoshop and painter, but i would say get the one for painter.
im good on paper but using the tablet just feels better.

myself as well, i had a larger tablet and i could never get the details that i wanted out of it, I'm more of a sketcher than a painter so my arm would get sore as well from moving it around too much to get a desired result. that I could have done more quickly with the smaller tablet
Puppet-Lord, you honestly need a tablet to create THAT? Im sorry, but i could honestly draw that in flash with my cock.
