Or maybe I am just intelligent enough not to blindly follow the cycle of life and do eat meat, eh?

You are absolutely right. I have pointed this out in many posts to those who claim that I eat the food, which could have been alternatively given to the poor. The whole problem is about the distribution of food in the market system. The demand for a product is the willingness and the ability to purchase the product. If a poor person is willing, but unable, to buy the meat, noone will produce the meat for him. If I cut down on my consumption of meat, the supply will simply go down and there will be no leftover to give to those who are hungry anyway. To solve the problem, the distribution of meat and vegetables (and not only meat, mind you, angry vegetarians) must be evenly allocated, which would mean somebody would have to have higher prices to feed the poor.

Who said anything about following it blindly, my family is vegetarian. I happened to examine what I thought was right and wrong and found I had no moral issues eating anything up to and including baby seals. What it comes down to is I have thumbs and can use weapons the day tigers evolve thumbs I won't bitch about the moral implications of it coming into my house and eating my ass in the least.... probably scream a lot though.

I doubt humans will ever let any animal reach such a threatening stage of evolution to actually face us as equal and eat us for breakfast in towns. On the other hand, it is simple. We eat both meat and vegetables, so there is nothing wrong to the issue of killing for food! Bears do it, tigers do it, anaconda's do it, sharks do it, even damn birds do it. There is a chain of food and fortunately we are at the very top of it, so there is not much real threat from other animals to us (unless you go in the jungle!). It is wrong to kill for fun, but there is nothing wrong in killing for food!

I like a good mushroom and swiss burger from time to time. I also know and love people who are vegetarians. They don't bitch at me for eating a burger and I don't tie them down and try to force it down thier throat. People that try to shove thier moral superiority down my throat don't even warrant the priveledge of my listening to them, as far as I'm concerned, and all I've got to say is: shove it up your ass!
