I strongly disagree.
I didn't even really think it deserved a place in the top 3.

Grats to all the winners. Especially TimFrommeyer, that crazy mofo.

Ask bob kindly for a T shirt... At least its something, but money would have been slightly better... lol! Oh well next contest! At least I know what I did wrong in this one!

Together is fine, just be sure to explain it all clearly. You'd be surprised by how people can organize info sometimes. :)
It really is a shame that Pico & The Butchery didn't win anything, as it was really well done and seemed to have taken a LOT of effort. Though I know there were a lot of good ones and the choices were tough.. : \
I am wondering, though, why it isn't being recognized as front page material?

This is the kinda of response that I dread getting... Considering a lot of people put a lot of work into their entries, but they all can't win. You gotta look at the upside to what you accomplished - you came together and made something great, advancing your skills in the process. I played Super Pico AllStarts from start to finish and loved it, but now I realize that it didn't get front page and didn't get a prize, so I feel like I'm letting you guys down on my end of the deal. That's the bitter part of the bittersweet ending to Pico Day... Every submission that gets front page, is the result of another submission NOT getting front page, and it's like a constant battle to give everything a chance on the front page, while also giving front page submissions enough time on the front page... This is the type of stuff that has me back on NG three hours after going to bed. :(

It was on the front page, but got pulled out to rotate another Pico Day entry in. Today I have to decide just how many Pico Day submissions to pull from the front page, to make room for other Pico Day submissions and all the non-Pico Day submissions that have been ignored over the course of these past few days. We need a Pico Day sticky at the top of the page...

Or mabye another two Front Page buttons.
Well that's an awesome selection of games/movies. I didn't win with Pico AllStars but I did with Darnell's Burn Em Up, so at least I can celebrate that. :)

my bad

You mean like one of those collection page rotators we had on clockday and christmas time? Yeah that would be a good idea.
There were some fantastic submissions this year, I say, congrats to all the winners. :)
And awesome that MentosClock won and all!

Nooooooooo, no more front page icons! I'm not one of those Front Page Puritans who feels that more submissions on the front reduces the integrity of those that actually made it there, so much as it's a bit overwhelming with viewers already needing to use the scroll bar to see what's up there even now.
Defeats the purpose of the Front Page being a sort of...highlight/synopsis of what's new on NG.

Additional front page buttons have actually been a detriment in a lot of ways... People were more likely to view all the front page submissions back when we had a smaller group of them. Now, people sorta just glaze over them. They still get a lot of attention, but it's different now. The thing to keep in mind is, showing 10 icons doesn't mean people will click 10 icons... People come to the site and might just choose one thing to click. The fact that the front page listing isn't as "tight and defined" as it once was means people might not even pick one of those items to click. It's something I need to get more scientific about, to unlock the true key to the perfect balance.
OMFG way to repeat me, Tom!!11
And the "perfect balance" is two slices of provolone melted over pastrami instead of just one. Also, this is not an analogy. I'm hungry.
wow.. I can't believe we actually became 5th.. Thanks Tom! Congrats to all other people too. And I think you are absolutely right by giving a extra prize to Pico Day Incursion. His preloader almost knocked me off my chair :P especially after seeing it 200+ times while testing our own game =D
I said HANS would get his submission bumped because it's a game.
I sure do love being right.

yeah. Mine was on frontpage ON PIco day for the afternoon, then it got taken off :(. Ah well, my afternoon of fame was cool!
Let's all catch thumbtacks on our bare eyes!
:it's like a side scrolling version of Pico 2, only it's actually been released.
hahahaha XD
I have to admit I wasn't expecting so many Pico submissions to kick so much ass. It was a good turnout this year, don't you think?

It's perfect as it is fer me, but two less buttons is better than two more.
