I could care less whether they are the United Kingdom or 4 seperate countries--I just hope they stand together as one in the end, especially in national (or multi-national if they break up) defense. I dont exactly think that this is the best time for the country to 'break apart' though.

I was under the impression that the United Kingdom was relatively content with their union? Hmm, guess not. Oh well, shows how much I know :X

Yeah, because the last few worked out so great for you. Fair enough Blair screwed up too, but ...come ON!, the Tories?

Margaret Thatcher benefitted the economy greatly. She concentrated on supply side policies which can cause some short term damage, but in the long run increases the rate of growth a lot.

She ordered trucks to run over and kill striking miners. She obviously liked the economy a little too much, eh?

And that why I also asked how a split would effect the army etc.
I would fight along side an english army even as a combined british force if it were defence of an invasion or something like that.

The reason I dont join the current british army is because you have to swear alegence to the queen.
And thats something I couldnt do.

I don't care as long as you Brits keep sending over your hilarious TV show ideas, awesome music, and James Bond movies. K thanks

Although it has been a while since we've seen some changes on the map...seriously, I'm getting bored, and a million little Yugoslavias doesn't count. Plus, it makes 0 sense to me why it's so important to hold onto that tiny little speck of land called Northern Ireland.

I met some people from northern Ireland and they all wished they were part of proper Ireland. What fools they are.

she was still a bitch though. Waaay too right wing for me. Plus the police were hardly gentle to the miners anyway, and killed two. But yeah, that wasn't true I don't think lol. Now, to bail out of this thread and never return.

Yeah well the Conservatives have had a bit of a shameful past, some of that being inflicted by Margaret Thatcher, and more by John Major.
Blair, I admit, did not screw up as much as the Tories did a few years ago, his only fuck up was going to war in Iraq.
Just look at the NHS, its a shambles, David Cameron appears dedicated to reforming and I actually put all my trust in him. He is hoping to private at least 15% (I think) and that will help the NHS back to its former glory, and he did say that free healthcare will still be given to those who need it. If labour stay in power then taxes are just gonna keep on getting higher and higher to maintain the running of the NHS and other public services.

David Cameron might seem all nice and pleasant and bend whichever way public opinion goes, but at the end of the day the conservatives are still the conservatives - people who would probably reinstate child labour if it was politically feasible. The Labour party is now no different. You get the odd socialist dinosaur who's still living in the 70s but those in control of the party wouldn't care if people started starving to death if it didn't affect their careers.

You should never put any trust in a politician, let alone all of your trust. They're all traitors.

We really don't need Scotland, or Wales, or Ireland. England is where it's at.

Yeah, seems that way.

I can't believe SNP won. What a load of bullshit, and they only beat Labour by one seat as well.

I may be a Conservative, but i'd rather Labour won than SNP (Conservatives came nowhere near close which is a pity :( ).

Yay, Obama won. Let's thank his supporters:

The fact of the matter is that Scotland won't be fully independent if the SNP get their way. Oh no, they'd rather split off from England in terms of government, but would still like to take advantage of all the lovely money they get from taxpayers in England. FACT.

When I saw the front page of the sun it listed 10 reasons not to vote for snp.
One of the reasons was the taxes would go up 5,000 for each family in the contry because we wouldnt recieve the £11 billion we get from engliand.

So if that is true hard times ahead, but a only think that will be a short term thing.

Funny picture but in truth were not going back to that, that was hundreds of years ago.
And the reason for all the fighting back then has been resolved because this exists
So england wont indave us and we wont indave them.

If David Cameron is the next Prime Minister, next time I'll be voting to break up Britain. I won't live under the Tories.

What the hell, Mick? I'd have thought there would be no way in hell you'd have voted anything other than SNP!

But yeah, no argument on the Tory thing. Cunts through and through, I despise Thatcher's legacy. Labour are equally cuntish now anyway, Tories in disguise and just sucking up to uncle sam. Methinks Britain needs a new political movement, a party which will keep us out of international affairs and focuses on making life better for ordinary people and an economic policy which doesn't just cater for big business. Then perhaps there wouldn't be such support for the SNP as there is now....
