Mostly to the left, with some very vehement conservatives.

oh hell i am a real fence sitter. one of those pro-gun pro-gay kinds of people. (there really is a political party for it, called the pink pistols)
i waver between wishing for the return of empires and some human rights crap. it depends on what side of hte bed i wake up on that morning.
i guess you could just call me a political realist.

Why would you root for the return of Empires? The 19th Century faded out and no one has really wished for it to come back. With the death of Queen Victoria, slowly the Empires begam to fall. I doubt they're going to come back unless the United States initiates it.

Someone who's pro-gun could never be a realist!

I'm pro gun but with realistic modifications. It's very realistic to be pro gun.. because if the government doesn't try to control it and legally and (as safely as they can) sell guns than there will be illegal dealers selling guns to whoever wants it.
I would sometimes like a return of an empire (but one modified for the modern world) because not only would it be interesting but also it could possibly halt some of the ethnic/religious conflict going on in the developing world. One thing Rome did well was to keep its citizens under control even at the expense of some human rights.
Unfortunately I doubt that is possible since seperatist movements are so virulent today. There is really no way out of the problem except for a huge, powerful country policing the world (the US doesn't yet because we DO SUCH A SHITTY JOB OF IT THAT WE MAKE THE PROBLEM WORSE!!!!!!)
well, as the chinese say.. may you live in interesting times.

to be honest, we find political prejudices to be just that, prejudiced. For example, why are so many conservatives for reduced environemntal protection laws? Because the liberals wrote them, and for no other valid reason. Why are most liberals against the military? Because conservatives are for it. We allow our members to have any political beliefs they want, as long as they are willing to concede to valid arguments from any point of view.

I think that, just because Israel is an ally of the United States and has been received by them and the world in a positive light, they happen to get away with more cruelties and injustices than...say...Iraq for example. It pays to be an ally of the United States.

I think the politics forum is very diverse. Even within the PC and DAG you will find members disagreeing. The most important thing to grasp is that people are gonna question your views so be prepared to debate. People can be childish, racist and whatever else you can think of but there are ones that can intellectually discuss a topic
