the paint bucket wont work?!?!?

Why would it do this??? im trying to change the background color and it wont work....how can i fix it???????

Ensure that:

All lines are closed
And/or
You set the Gaps to Medium or Large.

I recommend to close lines instead.

Also ensure that the object is not inside a symbol, or it's not on a layer that is locked.

To change the entire .swf's background colour, click an empty part of the stage and look at the Properties Panel.

Yeah, you'll have to go into the Properties window for that. (window -> Panels -> Properties)

i mean the whole background though...i want the whole bg to be blue, why wont it work? it did the first time i tried it, but on a new flash it wouldnt...how can i fix it?

you cant do that, either make a colored square, or go to cursor and the color swatch at the botom changes the BG color

lines might not be fully connected. go over it again

ok if u have flash 8 do this...

click.... modify>document> then click the box that hasa white square in it
this is for the background of the file

for anything else make sure the layer is unlocked (duh) then make sure all gaps are closed
make sure the color of the pain bucket isnt the same color as the background color(duh)
make sure you are in the right layer(duh).

if none of this works just try closing flash and restarting your computer........

if none of that works just back up all your files and uninstall it and reinstall it (this may require actualy having the purchased product)
