Well my droogs, since there are many clubs for other bits of media like doctor who crew, timsplitters club and so on why not have a clockwork orange club.
The conversation will be about the film, favourite bits, theories on what it means, the actors writers and directors themselves and so on so we wont run out of things to have a chin wag about.
Normal BBS rules apply
I need 3 droogs first, please dont lock this club and join up :)

I'll join, but I can't see there being much to talk about. Apart from the book and the film, there isn't any other Clockwork Orange media to discuss.

You would've been better off making a club about Stanley Kubrick movies or something. That might do well, actually. Try that.

Of course o brother.
I dont know if anyone here has read the book but instead of alex having voluntary sex with the girls in the comic shop he rapes them and there about 10.
Would the film been better with that scene?

I think it would, just for the sake it'd be more shocking and it'd make Alex actually seem like this disgusting criminal he is supposed to be in film.

It was probably to do with censors and ratings but all the rape, fighting, looting, crippiling people and murder showed the monster he was.

I didn't think he was that bad. Then again, I assume I'm meant to feel that way, Alex is a deceitful little boy afterall.

Yeah he's very intelligent and manipulative but feels no remorse. The more I think about it the more I think cartman from south park is based oh him.

Yes indeed. The film/book was bad enough at the time, I mean it was banned in most places.
I personally haven't read the book yet, I keep getting told to but never get round to it. I'll do it in the Summer, pinky promise.

Has anyone got the soundtrack? it is gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. :)
Not only a landmark in electronic music, it was also the first recording to feature the vocoder (March From A Clockwork Orange (Ninth Symphony, Fourth Movement, Abridged)). It is the song that is played when Alex is being subjected to the Ludovico Technique.
I might pick the book up over the summer.

I am now at your bidding o brother. I will not disappoint my fellow droogs.

I read some of the book but not up to that point. I can see why they weren't that young in the movie though, well appearing that young anyways.
Would the film been better with that scene?
I think it would've caused more of an uproar and possibly have gotten the movie pulled for "promoting sex with minors" or whatever reason the media could find to have the movie taken off of shelves.

That it is, I have it and listen to it as much as I can.
