some problems with the top of the car, I didn't scale it right, I'll fix it later,

Hey guys, I just got Lightwave, it's a preety awesome program, but does anybody know where I can get tutorials over modelling?

It's my first time experimating with 3D, so I'd rather have see more basic tutorials, I have already modeled very basic things, like small sandcastles and that kind of things, but now I'd like to learn modelling animals or humans, preety basic stuff, like how to model heads, bodys, etc, please help T_T

heh well modeling alot of organic shapes like the human body isnt exactly basic the way i see it, there are definatly some tutorials out there for lightwave ive seen, i cant help you out on a link though,

Googling for tutorials, while sometimes time consuming, can be very rewarding. I learnt everything I know that way.

With 3D, as with any art form, there is no substitute for skill, it's practice practice and more practice... Oh, and a lot of general knowledge is very useful. But in the end it's just practice and understanding modelling methods.

I had a friend that is pretty good with 2d art so i offered to 3Dize his work. hah what you guys think?

I still have work to do like i have to work on the mask alil. and then ill move to rigginga nd ill put him in the pose. but im tired right now so ima take a break lol

Here's an image comparison of a 3D character that I created for a team project for class. The 2D concept was created by fellow team member Robson Vieira who did a great job as our concept artist. I had the task of developing her in 3D and rendering.

very very nice. my only suggestion is to make the "U.S.S. America" curve along contour of the ship as well

Oh, but this is actually accurate to what is going to be portrayed in the upcomming film... otherwise, yeah, I would definetely have the name curve with the countour like in this pic featuring the original motion picture design:
