Hey, its your body.
Your profile says your old enought to buy smokes, go knock yourself out.
I am now a non tobacco smoker.
I started in grade 6 & really got cool by grade 7 smoking because I needed that sweet ,sweet nicotine.
I found quitting to be ..... difficult.
When I go to the bar & meet up with friends who smoke it is like there is a cloud of stench around them. Even if they haven't had a smoke recently, you can still smell it.
It is gross, but you won't find me trying to talk you out of taking up the habit.
I was being a little sarcastic and a little incredulous.
Just walk into the works car park with a ciggie hanging from my mouth and immediately insist on being sent to a clinic for a sit down and some nicotine patches, while still being paid for my reguar job.
Im asthmatic, so smoking would probably kill me within a week, I just want whatever benefits people are getting for skiving off work.

Theres no such thing as secondhand obesity (except if you count fat babies).Any sort of healthcare system gets clogged (by "clogged" I mean "at least marginally more burdened") with fat people like the arteries of a fat person get clogged with fat. Also, obese people take up too much seating and are unfortunate to look at.
Yeah... because that's totally on par with smokers who expose non-smokers to cancer causing second-hand smoke that has actually killed people who never smoked a cigarette in their life.
It's not as easy to see the detriments to other people as it is with smoking, but they're there.
The only semi-legitimate point you had about obesity is that it clogs health care services, yet more people are hospitalized for smoking-related diseases than for obesity. And even then, obesity is an actual disease that some people can't help. Smoking on the other hand is a self-inflicted addiction that actually physically harms others who don't smoke.
There is no comparison.
Do you people even realize what this costs society? We cut down more trees than there are in the entire universe, every single day, just to manufacture the papers for cigarettes.
Yeah, because that's not impossible at all.
Not to mention that all that burning paper is the real cause of global warming, what with it being more exothermic than a thousand supernovas.
Yeah...... even more so than temper tantrums of the Hawaiian Volcano Goddess Pelé
Yay, Obama won. Let's thank his supporters:
-The compliant mainstream media for their pro-Obama propaganda.
-Black Panthers for their intimidation of voters.

Haha, that would be funny.
A fifth of the UK population is obese. Just imagine how much people would have to go on compulsary diets. The companies would be losing pounds rather than the fat people haha.

I mknow a couple of guys who tried nicotine patches, & they were nonsmokers. It made both of them sick. I think your body might have to be used to dealing with nicotine in it for you to wear those patches without getting sick.

I am also asthmatic, I have what is labeled 'Cold induced Asthema' It can really suck in the winter, I never know when I go outside & start breathing cold air if I'm going to have an attack or not. I don't recall ever haveing an asthma attack from having a smoke.
What pisses me off at work is the smokers step outside for a puff when it isn't breaktime/lunch etc. Hey if your going to stop for a minute because you smoke, why not us nonsmokers taking a minute.
Anyway if you do get a patch, try it out & let us know what happens.
