I remember downloading a game where you had to hack into Government servers and back into the old Internet from underground, because the new one didn't allow anything. It was probably based on this.

But wouldn't all fot his consititute as an invasion of privacy? The Government is NOT allowed to spy on us as a nation. What we do on the intraweb is our own business. If they are gonna use 'hax' on our IP addresses and history caches, they might as well be bugging our telephones.

America's not a fucking Communist regime. We have our federal agencies, etc, but in no way are they the fucking KGB. This practically breaks every amendment in the constitution that pertains to rights as a citizen.

I've heard about this, but I don't think it'll work on a large scale. If they do manage to actually get something like this working, how many people are going to want to pay extra for what? Some streaming audio and movies, and everything heavily locked down with DRM?

No.

First, Internet 2 has been discussed for a long period of time with no defined goal in mind by any 2 groups. What is Internet 2. Sure a lot of people think it's about security or about removing internet 1. One group defines the 2nd internet as Social Networking sites like newgrounds or myspace or facebook.

One day there may be a faster more secure network, but that doesn't mean this network will ever go away.

The fact is, it would be too expensive to replace this and piss too many people off.

The internet 2 is like blue ray disks. They are neat, shiny, etc. but not worth the money.
