Yeah, I never noticed that until you pointed it out right there, they do seem a littlestrange...

when i draw i ten do filp the drawing over and continue it from the different view....that will let you see it in a completely different perspective that your mind hasnt setled on yet, thus you`ll see anything wrong with it..even slightly...do this every so often when you`re drawing something and it might help....not that you need it,they`re virtually all perfect...... it was just a friendly tip :)

anyway you`re really really good , i`m a huge fan.

Of course they have meaning, I think all art does on some level. A lot of them are sad looking, and it is definately a reflection of my own existance.

Thanks, it's kind of hard to flip things upside down when your tools are a graphics tablet and a mirror, but thanks for the tip. =]

I really like that one even though all your art is pretty good. For Luis' picture, I don't see any difference besides the fact that it's smaller, maybe I didn't look close enough.

This is a set of four top lit faces drawn with one brush, one opacity (100%), with only black and white and no filters or any of that shit and no ctrl-z. I really like limiting the options I have in Photoshop for some reason, apparently. I find it liberating for some unknown reason...

Inspired by the 15 minute sketch thread (but far to chicken to post in it). I did a few 15 minute sketches myself...

The first, I actually spent a little longer than 15 minutes on it, nevertheless is looks like crap:

The second 15 minute piece, wasn't really a sketch since I used a thick brush and detailed it a little.

Bleh, I feel like I'm getting worse and worse at this whole are thing and I get bored with my pictures fast...

Your artis awesome and I think you're one of the most talented artists in the art forum but your stuff's geting boring. It's all the same. That's probably why you're not happy with the pics. You've seen one pic, you've seen them all. Try mixing it up a little. Here's a lil' chalenge: do a cheerful pic.

I think youre doing just fine, something you could do is integrate new color palettes into your piece. I noticed that LaserKarl does this in his paintings.. he'll like do studies in different color palettes. Sometimes that in itself is a refreshing change.. maybe youre getting burned out by the cool colors?

Happiness and art don't really connect with me, as I use art as an outlet for my angsty, miserable, shut-in life. I just want people to feel something when they look at something I've done as opposed to seeing something beautiful but lacking substance. What I do reflects how I am, who I am, what I am.

Thanks, Luis. Yeah, I do have a lot of interest in color and how it affects people and their mood. I dunno, greyish-blue and purple seem like a fit for me. They seem somehow detached from reality and generally melancholy in my mind. Anyway, the "cheerful" picture I'm working on (if I do complete it I give it a 50-50 shot) has some new color elements.

In the meantime, I found this on my hard drive the other day. I am opposed to violence in almost any form. Wife/girlfriend beaters and the like are scum assholes, and a good friend of mine was stuck in that kind of relationship for years. Anyway, here is a purply sketch of it.
