On the radio they're talking about only giving kids an hour of TV a day starting soon..
What the hell, what about the movies?!
It would take 3 days to watch a film, I hate the government.

Only parents can control that, so does it really matter what they say on the radio?

The government knows nothing about the needs of it's younger generation, and I wish they'd fucking stop pretending that they do..

The Government could not enforce it. It will never be a law.
It is more than likely a suggestion to parents on how much TV their children should watch.

The only proof I can give is if anyone else has been listening to Radio 1 in the past hour (who lives in England).
But even so if the parents control it, they will still listen to the government and actually go along with it.
My dad just laughed at the man on the radio, but if this is publically announced by an official, I'll just cry laughing at them.
To the computer question, they didn't say anything about that.

Yes, because the youth of the UK are in such great shape.

I seriously doubt it. Most will just do their own thing.

Seeing as I am 23, I really couldn't care.
Also, I am not sure I totally understand what you are saying anyway. Who is "they?"

The people who were broadcasting it.

Did they say kids in general, or a certain age range? Funny thing is I think I learned more from TV than I learned in school.

Really?
When I lived in London most parents seemed to encourage their ten year old daughters to dress like sluts and become pregnant as soon as possible.

I dont see how they would be able to enforce it. They're not going to be monitoring every household that watches the cartoon channel, and besides what would the punishment be? You have to go to juvi for watching the pokemon marathon. Sounds like another dumb, pointless idea.

The only ones that can control TV watching, is parents. The government can't regulate this type of thing.
What the hell, what about the movies?!
Movies are movies, TV is another issue. It's like...having one cookie, as opposed to eating a whole box. With TV's in the house, there's always something ti kill your life in front of, whereas movies will throw you out at some point.

I won't even BEGIN to dignify this sentence with a response.

The government should stop babysitting us. We should be able to do whatever the hell we feel like as long as it doesn't affect anyone else negatively. Let the parents be the parents. That being said i there is still no link so i doubt it's real.

First of all, I have no idea how they would know if my child was watching more than an hour of TV a day. I am a parent, and if the government thinks it's okay for certain parents to raise their children then they should assume a parent knows what their child should or shouldn't watch and how long they should or shouldn't watch it for.
I think there's worse circumstances out there involving children than too much TV.
looking good and dressing well is a necessity. having a purpose in life is not.

It might be a suggestion sort of thing. The government may put out some sort of suggested regulations for children and TV, but beyond that there isn't really anything they can do.

I doubt any parent in the UK (who doesn't live in Bath) really listens to the government anymore, theyv'e already screwed up enough.
Although if they do go all the way, I can see how it would be possible- digital TV has greater restriction possibilities, and the whole country will be switching over before long. What if they have a PIN system, like with the adult channels, after an hour of watching any of the kids channels?
