I know all that haha, no I just need some good ideas to make this report stand out more, more points for uniqueness.
This is what I got so far:
Pg. 1
To Kill A Mockingbird was great book. It followed the story of the Finch family and their lives in the town of Maycomb, Alabama. The people of the town still follow segregation, like most of the south did in that time (1930s). A large part of the book follows the father, Atticus, as he is involved in the trial of a black man, Tom Robinson. Near the Finch house there are several people, Mrs. Dubose, and several other women, the sheriff, Heck Tate, and one other person. Boo Radley, a misunderstood man that always stays in his home. The book is known as “The timeless classic of growing up, and the Human Dignity that unites us all.”
The book begins by introducing two children, Jem and Scout (aka Jean Louise). They play around and eventually meet an odd looking boy named Dill from another place called Meridian. They spend time together for the rest of the summer and some of the time spent is talking about Boo Radley. They say his house is cursed, and you could die just from eating the nuts off of the trees. At one point Jem tries to prove himself by actually touching the house.
Dill eventually leaves and Scout heads off to her first year of schooling along with Jem. Its noticed that Jem doesn’t stick around Scout much when at school. Scout finds a problem in school. Since she was little, she was always taught to read, Jem and she both love to, but the teacher is aggravated by it and wants to hold her back from it, Atticus of course says to read anyway.
Things continue on and then one night a man comes to the finch house. He gives Atticus, a lawyer, a new case. The problem is that he will be defending a black man. Tom Robinson, a young black man, he is going on trial for the rape of Mayella Ewell. Tom of course says he’s not guilty, but the problem is that the town is prejudice, so it’s an extremely low possibility that Tom would end up winning this case. Atticus none the less takes the case.
Problems begin popping up in the kid’s lives. People insult them and their father, calling them “n-igger lovers”. Scout’s main reaction of course is to fight back, but Atticus won’t allow it. Scout eventually gets into a fight with a bratty little cousin of hers, it turns out that some of the family is saying the same things about Atticus. One day a rebid dog was walking through the streets, Atticus was given a gun and he shot and killed the dog.
On the other hand, the black community respects Atticus; the kids go to church with their caretaker Calpernia at one point, a black church. Atticus head off one night to wait outside of Tom’s jail, people are coming to kill him; the kids sneak out and follow their father. They head through the crowd all the way up to Atticus and after a bit of Scout talking to them innocently, they all leave. The family returns home. Eventually aunt Alexandra, Atticus’s sister begins to live with them.
Pg. 2
The time of the trial finally comes and everyone gathers into the court house. Scout and Jem sneak off to the court house and sit on the balcony with the black people. Many people are put on the stand and give their testimonies, but there are 2 conflicting stories. One is where Tom Robinson raped and beat Mayella the other is where Mayella tried to get Tom to have sex with her. There were also signs of beating on Mayella, but it runs out the beating could have only been done by a left handed person, also Mayella stated she was held down and beaten, Tom cannot use his left arm, it was mangled when he was younger. So it turned out that her father was left handed. Dill was the only child who actually seemed to understand what was going on.
Soon the jury found Tom guilty and he was sent to a prison while Atticus worked on getting an appeal. One day news came that Tom had been shot in an escape attempt. Atticus went to tell his wife. Bob Ewell began to bother the Finches, threatening them.

The theme of race in the book is hugely important. Keep that in mind as you progress.

I swore to never read again after that book gave me no useful advice on killing mocking birds. It did, however, teach me not to judge a man by the color of his skin. But how does that help me?!?!

I just did a report on that a few months ago. Remember the main things that brought tension in the town. The great Depression, Race issues, Gender Issues, and also the poor families compared to the REALLY poor families. If all else fails, copy off of a smart friend! (Just kidding)

This too will pass.

Discuss how the mad dog scene in the book foreshadows the spreading racism through the later chapters, and Atticus's role in his attempt to stop that from happening.
The dog is racism.

No, Tom Robinson is killed when he tries to break out of prison.
And the only guy that dies in the end of the book (besides Tom) is the father of the girl who was 'raped'. He tries to kill the two kids but falls on his own knife like a fucking drunk.
Wait, I think he WAS drunk.
