If yo uare using SLI and it doesn't work, its probaly because you are missing the SLI bridge. Without this, your computer randomly switches between the two cards.

What graphics card do you use?

Ouch. I have that exact card. It was good, and was better than my first computers integrated, but now you can't do much with it.

But don't say that ATI sucks just based on this one card, I only use ATI. I just like them, that card just flat out sucks.

I know what you mean, it was a good upgrade from integrated, for this PC. But I've had experience with both ATI and Nvidia, on my other PCs. I prefer Nvidia, but yeah this card is OK, it runs WoW fine. It's also handeling my dual monitors good so far.

ATI is actually a good company, i just happen to like nvidia better because its a bit cheaper and they use GPU's wich take some of the load off of the CPU. Although my 2.7ghz could handle it.

I'm sorry, I got so caught up in trying to save you from your own stupidity that I actually forgot that I was giving my advice without you needing to beg.

Nice way to try and piss all over someone who's trying to do you a favour though.

You weren't doing me a favor, you repeated the EXACT same thing everybody else said. Your post was useless and pointed out what the topic WASN'T about. Thanks for your input though kthnx.

Search AMD on Google and, in terms of stocks, you will see otherwise (AMD owns ATI). Their stock's continued fall in price is due to them acquiring ATI as well as their increase competition with Intel. AMD recently lost business to Sun Microsystems, one of their "loyal" customers. Also, reference the nVida stock, as that and Intel have been doing good as of late.

Plus I never liked their graphics cards. Like you say in the next part, they're a bit more expensive, and nVidia's look cooler with the pretty colors =D

i just happen to like nvidia better because its a bit cheaper and they use GPU's wich take some of the load off of the CPU. Although my 2.7ghz could handle it.

Very true ^_^

On my HP Pavilion a1540n (
specs ) I have a nVida GeForce 6600 overclocked 512 MB graphics card. It's decent: lets me play any game, any graphics settings. Spent about $200 on it last August on it, was well worth it. I never want one of those lame RAM-hogging integrated graphics cards to mess up my gaming experiance.

'cause offering to track down good, reliable, low-price parts to match your motherboard and budget isn't doing you a favour at all, is it? =/

I don't need your help matching parts for my motherboard, i can do that all on my own when i have a job, and my own money to do with what i please. Right now its all a budget absed decision by my mom(for my present.) Right now i can barley play counterstrike: source, so moving up to F.E.A.R. Far Cry, and Quake 4 is a great thing, until i get a job in a couple of months.

i just google video'd 7600gs and watched videos of people playing oblivion, fear, the new army rts thing(forgot name), and quake 4 on high with minimum or no lag. It seems to stay in par with new games that are still being released today, and it should hold me over until i get a job in a couple of months :/

Not trying to be an ass(being fully aware i'll sound like one), but the graphics in CSS are nothing special..my old n dusty geforce mx 4000(like, the oldest fuckign card, EVER) plays CS:S on medium.

If that is absolutely all you want the card for then get this POS for $50, but honestly you're just wasting money, even with your parents paying for the damn thing you should be able to negotiate getting a better card and OWING them some money. =/

I think i would rather have a POS that performs well, thanks. :P

I use an Nvidia Geforce 6600.

Even though it is very out of date, it is still holding strong with newer games coming out believe it or not.

The 6600 is a great card(its the next best thing to a 7600gs). A 6600 can pull off 52FPS on PREY on high.(
