The ancient Britons didn't die out, they were absorbed into Anglo-Saxon culture. There were still 3 different Celtic languages spoken in parts of England right up to Norman rule, so in no way did they get wiped out before the germanics. Just like Normans were the ruling powers and they contribuated even less to the English blood line.

England isn't a Celtic country, none of your culture or history has any trace of the Celts left in it - except for Cornwall who don't even consider themself English anyway.

Apart from Northumbria, Cumbria, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Devon who all still retain some Celtic tradtions as well as places Cities like Liverpool and Birmigham who have had large Irish imigration.

I mean there isn never a strong sense of Celticness, Not many people play the northumbrian pipes or whatever but how often do you put on a kilt and dance over some swords.
