So yeah, Bendo pretty much openly admitted to tracing the tankmen for his part.

The 'pictures of you' one is decent joke wise. Can imagine that up in CelebState America, or Magazine Ville UK.

It's quite interesting how so many of the submissions are coming out simillar to the starting pic. Interesting in a sense of how people pick it up as that's how they should be subconciously. Lots of people have gone for the thick border around the edge, off angle look.

What's the thoughts on the submission,

What! the sunbeams is a japanese flag which was used by the Japan's military, particularly the Imperial Japanese Navy. I am sorry to say this but its not like Utah came up with the idea.

And it is a japanese Vending Machine the sun beams give it that sterotypical look. but i am not saying to copy his idea but if it fits in with your design and you are not going out of your way to copy, i dont see the problem!

also if you where to picture a pirtate you would think pegleg, eyepatch, parrot on the shoulder and missing teeth. which is a exaggeration. and alot of drawings are an exaggeration that would settle with an Streotypical answer you get the veiw to realize what it is.

you are 100% right about seeing the sunbeam on vending machines in real life but everything has certain feelings mixed in with it.

I am Australian but i dont wrestle crocodiles and ride kangaroos to school (but i wish i did). I dont live in the dessert and i dont comsume gallons of beer and eat meat pies until i explode.

yes, but you will get more credit for including the whole machine, plus, most of the drawing is just the newgrounds logo, which you didn't draw!

Phew, that's a relief. Mine, thus far, looks nothing like anyone elses. I thought it was a bad thing, now I have motivation to continue. Look for it sometime this weekend.

Yer the Japanese text is one but it is better to make your drawing look more detailed and intresting and the text alone can not do that the sun beam is a simple and effective way of adding texture in to the background.

Also back when pirates where at there height they looked the same as normal sailors and austalians are pretty regular dudes to. We drew them in the more commercialized way because to is a way as you said is a way to help people distinguish them from a normal person.

I love fierce competition. It makes for great televison.

I think its fine to use things like the japanese flag and draw things a certain similar style IF its a good idea and executed well. This one will be interesting to judge!

NIce entries so far, don't really have a favorite yet though. But I'm wondering why MindChamber's missing out on these last two contests? I always thought his pieces were an interesting take on the contest.

A work in progress from me, Still working on the actual limbs inside the vending machine, and working on some finishing touches like glow and a background etc.
