1) I dont consider either of the entries 'funny' in the slightest
2) the contest is not about being funny, strangely enough, the art contest is about art. I know the contest is also about the idea, but the art still counts quite a lot. In any case, he said that a so-so drawing with a good idea may beat a so-so idea with a good drawing. Plus, I dont think that either of our ideas are that great, my one didn't require that much thought and a sperm related vending machine is very immature.

Okay, I know that in every contest their is going to be some bad submissions but why does this one seem to have disproportionately (sp?) more bad ones than the last one. All the cereal boxes were really good but alot of these really arn't that great.

Why are the ones in this competition have alot less effort put into them.

I really like Stamper's submission.
Its got a real nice light effect on its face and the general design of the machine is nice to look at!

My submission has come out in a real bad quality on the page but if you click one of the links you can view it on my Deviantart account in its true quality!

It's simple...what you do is make two versions: one that fits the 595x700 pixels limit as close as possible (keeping it under 200kb), and then in the text (of the same post, they won't like you double posting) you cna place a link to a higher resolution version, preferably hosting it on an image hoster (like imageshack or photobucket).

You are right, there seem to be a lot of quick shite ideas that are just placed onto a template that looks like a vending machine. I don't know...maybe people read "If you got a great idea thats executed merely so-so it could beat out an amazing drawing based on a so-so idea." So people are trying to blitz out ideas without thinking about the drawing maybe...
