They have been working on a pill for men, other than a vasectomy, a condom and no sex are men choices I'm not sure where the man pill is.
I'm sure there must be something, but society tends to be biased towards 'it's the female's job to worry' and it isn't as well-known.
I think it should be both parties job to take responisbility for proper protection.
Any way it going to make voting even more important in 2008.

Shit. I bet if humanity had worked on that idea instead of blaming everything on women, we'd have one by now. Pfft.

Yep. Equality in all things, especially in the regards of potentially creating a new life.

IYeah, I could not support a party that wouldn't allow an abortion for a rape victim if it's 'too late in the pregnancy'. :growl:

Well, that sucks.I think Mothers get to decide that, not the people who dont want to do it.
Make it legal for the ones who want to do it and illigal for the ones who dont.
This law is just wrong, i know it kid of like child abuse but common, its 1 week old as a fetus, and it doesnt even have a good anough brain to think at all.
Our country sucks for making this law.

Hasn't most forms of abortion been illegal for a while now?

Not really, though there are still crazy amounts of people trying to stop it. Hell, South Carolina was considering a law that would require a person to see an ultrasound of the fetus before performing an abortion, like the woman hadn't agonized over the decision already.
I don't like abortion, but it's certainly better than outlawing it and having women be forced to resort to less safe procedures. Because banning it would not stop anything; it would only make it more dangerous.

Abortions for some, no abortions for others. Problem solved. Everyone's happy.

Dude, it's partial birth abortion. You're a sick fuck if you support that. I'm surprised it's been legal this long.

Oh, ye gods.
An abortion is strictly between the mother, the doctor, possibly the father, and God.
It's none of the government's fucking buisness.
End of story.

That's only part of the controversy. Things are never as black-and-white as many would like them to be.
The other part is that there are no exceptions to the ban, not even if there is severe or fatal risk to the mother if she continues with the pregnancy, or if she's a rape victim.

The rape situation is COMPLETELY irrelevent. Just think about that- why would a rape victim have a partial birth abortion?
The risk to the mother is a problem, but that's why they have a thing called a "C-Section." If that doesn't work, then there might be a problem.
The only thing I'm pissed about is that Alberto Gonzales got his way. He's honestly the biggest prick in the country.

Hm, maybe because someone wouldn't want the face of their rapist looking back at them, reminding them of a physically and mentally traumatic event that they had no choice in?
Der.

Yeah, because lots of babies survive when born halfway through the pregnancy.

Now on that, I can agree.

What a newsflash.
The fetus isn't conscious, and it doesn't feel a thing.
You have evidence of this?

So, you'd carry the baby for 9 months, the whole time wanting to keep the baby, and then you decide to kill it when you see its face? That's pretty fucking low.
If they're raped, they can still, I don't know, get an abortion within the first trimester?

But you'd realize that there was going to be a problem if the cervix wasn't adequately dialated, and then a doctor would realize that an attempt to give birth could result in injury or death, and tell the mother that a C-Section would be her best bet?

You don't seem to grasp what the bill is about. It deals with abortions done in the second trimester, not in the final one (which is illegal period).

Rape victims are usually just sliiiightly shaken up after their experience, and have a little more on their minds than just that, including but not limited to physical injury, criminal proceedings, or mental consequences of the act.

If it's in the second trimester, the odds of survival are typically slim to none.

I've tried to get the whole story on the issue, but unfortunatly, the only sources I find are news stories and liberal/conservative babble. So i'm talking about what I heard from these terrible sources.
All I know is that if Gonzales supports it, it's probably something I'm going to hate.

I really think abortion should be illegal, and mothers can apply for an abortion if they wish, and go before a magistrate or something who may allow the abortion in certain cases.

People think the kids will be adopted but more likely they'll just be in foster care or put in a group home where they end up fucked up or abused. Seriously. Nobody wants a kid who is retarded, disabled, HIV infected, or black. I used to volunteer for an HIV clinic for women. When the mothers died, none of their children got adopted. People would rather get a baby from China or Russia than deal with a "defective" kid.
I think they should increase the number of abortions. In fact, I think they should force people who aren't fit to be parents to have abortions. I know a lot of teenaged mothers who are just leeching money off the government. I'm prepared to be a young mother myself, but I am financially stable and responsible. Some kid in Maryland fucking died of an infected tooth because his mom couldn't afford dental care, and she blamed the state for not providing enough financial aid to support her broke ass + her four kids.

Well, this would SUCK for the poor women who get raped, but it would let those attention whoring slutty girls MAYBE stop having her coot pounded every 2 weeks.
But STDs would take care of her.
Seriously though, I think abortions should only be available to those who get raped, since they didn't want it, and didn't deserve it, and it's a serious business.

Good job, Supreme Court. You fucking fucks.
Well, you would have a good point there..... if it wasn't for the fact that "Health of the mother" is a vague term that all Pro-Abortionists love to toss around becuase it can be interpreted many different ways and is so vague.
For example: If a woman bad back pain due to being pregnant, is her health threatened? You could easily argue it is. What about morning-sickness. She wouldn't have that if she wasn't pregnant. Once again, her HEALTH is being threatened.
Like I said, a vague term that Pro-Abortionists love to toss around because it can be used to get around ANY type of restriction on abortion. A better term would be if the "LIFE of the mother was threatened."
Other exceptions need to be in place was well. Such as cases of getting pregnant through rape or incest, or if there's medical reasons to believe that the baby will be mentally retarded or horribly deformed...... But not that "Health of the mother" double-speak.

The Supreme Court upheld a 2003 ban on partial-birth abortions. It did not overturn Roe v. Wade, nor is abortion illegal as the result of this ruling. The results of this particular ruling will have few effects—only 0.17%, or 17 out of every 10,000 abortions is a partial birth abortion.

You people do realize that there is an exception to this form of partial birth abortion. that if the mother can prove that she will become sick from the child then the abortion will go forward.
And you people also realize that you can still get an abortion in your third term, just in other ways.
