You guys are completely missing this, the only reason I threw in that I am English is to tell you that I dont think theyre all like this. I dont have anything against Europeans, its just the ones who think theyre better than everybody else.
I get to hear people sying stuff about america from my English FAMILY and friends. Alot of people on the internet as well.
And to that guy who asked, you dont have to be born in England to have an English hertiage.

Nice rant I must say.
I only make racial remarks towards other Americans...mostly just joking around though. I rarely make any British jokes, so thats a kick in the ass to me. Not all Americans are stupid fatasses. And if they are, they're looked down upon by society. (unless they're a cool stupid fatass)
I really don't like America that much though (as it is). But it's where I live and probably where I will remain. So it's sentimental to me. It's like a drunken uncle that you want to hate, but you just can't because he tells awesome stories. As far as it is with treating their citizens right, I'd say America is doing a damn good job. But I just wish that we'd go to alternative fuel sources for christs sake. Yah, I'm a huge hippy when it comes to that.
All countries have imperfections, being the most powerful country that America is, the imperfections are easier to see. So I just wish that other countries will stop being such hypocrites, and stop badmouthing us so much. The citizens I mean...you can badmouth the politicians as much as you want.
(at least we don't rip the fingernails off of shoplifters...?)
Yummy.

Thats not what this thread is about, but if you want to know, I think theyre lazy.
If theyre fat and happy with it, great, I wont find them good looking in any way, but its not my buisness. If they are fat and dont want to be, and bitch about how they wish they were think, and hate thin people, those are the ones I dont like.
Too fucking lazy to actually do anything about it, they just want to take a pill and keep eating the same horrible shit they have been.
Its a simple formula: Exercise more, and eat less. You dont need to read a 500 page book to figure it out.
I understand some people are fat because of their genes, but genetics cannot make you morbidly obese. Those genes can make you fat but not walrus fat, its not an excuse.

I am also English. But I can safely say I take no part in any american stereotypes. I've never been to america, so I will not judge america. Sure I watch a lot of american TV shows and films, but you can't really get much of an idea for what america is like from those.
Although I have come across american chat shows, and many of the americans there can be pretty stupid at times, and a bit strange...
Maybe the English are jelous. For one thing, america has way better houses. If you are rich enough, you can buy the most beautiful of houses, if not you can go into a fairly nice apartment.
Any rare nice house in England are too small with cheap walls. Whatever. This post is too long for my standards.

You think anyone cares about the size of a country?
Russia is fucking huge but their economy is quite largely down the drain. Japan is tiny but is one of the most prominent centres of technology on the planet and no one can deny ther have one hell of a history.
Here's a thought: maybe it's not so much with where people are from, just that quite a lot of people are idiots the worldover? People who get so wound up about where they come from, can't take a joke about their country because they're so damn insecure.

concerning the other stuff about "americans being dumb etc". Personally im 1/2irish1/2english (a crude mix i know) only some of my cousins on my irish side are "americans" so i have a slight knowledge of america.
In my opinion i think america is a tad bit over patriotic at times but theyre only looking out for their and other countries when you think about it, america have been trying to help, although they (government, army, schools etc.) may have made some mistakes we cant blame them for that.
After all ALL countries have made mistakes which have had dire consequences (many being European) also i just remembered someone mentions america has more of a population so when stuff like "obesity and IQ" come in the statistics itll be done to a count of people or a fraction/% etc. yet the ratio of populations are left out. Thus the statistics eg. in "Supersize Me" said america had the most fastest people, but obviously youll have the most fastest people if you have the most people (i know other countries have larger population but they normally dont fill in a valid statistics report)

I totally agree with you, America can be really over patriotic. America has so many oppertunities, I dont know why you would hate it, but still its just a country. It has faults like all the others, we arent perfect.
I dont really know any facts on this, but it seems like America always tries to lend a helping hand then gets screwed (Vietnam and Iraq).
I dont know, I think America has so much its our job to reach out to others, but I think there should be a limit to that.

I respect the US, but as I said in the Virginia Tech topic, Your constitution should be a little modified, just to help prevent this kind of event, cause it's to easy for anybody to buy a gun, especially in Virginia.
Amendment 2 - Right to Bear Arms. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State,
the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

What has size got to do with it? If anything, the fact that we have a small land mass makes our achievements look even better. Russia is the biggest country in the world, yet their economy is down the drain.

its part of their.. first or second amendment. They have a TINY amount of gun crime compared to the amount of gun owners who are responsible with their weapons (hunting, home protection etc.). As to your statement about "walking down the street with an assault rifle if you have a license" i personally see NO PROBLEM AT ALL with that. The fact that they obtained the license is step num.1 to the fact that a gun dealer ship has deemed them safe to have one in the first place, anyone with a bad criminal record will not be legally given one in some circumstances, num.2 since i use to do target practice etc. a couple of years ago i would carry a gun through the street from my car to my destination (house, shop etc.) so i see no problem there. An assault rifle has a safety, im keeping my ammo in it while i walk its just a minor few people that give a bad reputation for everyone.

Not really so much a helping hand as in long-term interests. For example, fight against communism, fight against hardline Islam and for oil and all those things.

Yeah I agree with some gun stuff, I think the columbine type weapons (like the tec 9) that cant shoot very accurately should be banned. I think that weapons that cant be used for personal defense or hunting should be banned basically.
The thing is that Americans are afraid that if one set of weapons are banned whats stopped all the others from being banned.
Even if this happens it still wouldnt take away 9mm pistols like the one used in Vtech.

Generalizing idiots are what's wrong with this world.
There is no single race/nationality/whatever that should be looked down upon. It's all about the individuals.
Ignorance is the cause of any conflict like what you stated in your first post in this thread.
There's no ignorant race, no ignorant country, no ignorant religion (not so sure there though), there are only ignorant individuals. These individuals should have their own group, that way, one can generalize about these people and it would be right.
So, don't fuck Americans, Arabs or Europeans, fuck ignorant shitheads!

If I was a poor Mexican, even a legal one that spoke good English, all that stuff would be unattainable for me.
Well, some might not get the ideal American Dream 50's-style with a white-picket fence and all that, but I can tell you a Mexican is more likely than not a hell of a lot better off here in America than in Mexico.
I believe, however, the main difference between Americans and the English are the way we insult people. As an American, I will proudly use stereotypes to joke about how you all drink tea, play cricket, and have bad teeth. It's nothing malicious. But you guys take it to far, call us fat, inbred hillbillies.
The way I see it is, we don't call you out for Tony Blair being our dirty little bitch, you shouldn't take such offense to our president being an idiot wannabe cowboy. =) Besides, everyone knows the English always will bitch about other countries problems, instead of their own turmoils. Has there ever been a time in your history when you weren't either forging an empire out of blood or griping about American politics?

Heres the thing.
People seem to think I am anti-american and I totally hate america. This is totally false. America is a great country and I like it almost as much as other countries (I seriosuly like England, Germany, Sweden most first gate European countries better mostly because the culture). However there is numerous things that get on my nerves about America.
prepares for flame.
Some Americans have this attitude like they are the only country on earth, they claim that they did most in fighting off the Germans in WWII, claimed they put most effort into many things etc. I just think they need to be educated more about other countries and their hardships. As I am saying, not all Americans are like this, and it is too general of a stereotype, but it does happen.
Yes, I am like most... I disaprove of the Iraq war, don't like bush... etc. But I don't put that as hate to America, all that goes to my hate for George W. I don't see why Americans deserve the blame for the actions of a few people in power.
America is a great country, beautiful, free, and has made some of the best innovations and inventions for this world, I deeply respect Americans and all they have done, One of the top 15 countries I would want to live.
Thanks America, your controbutions to the world have made living way easier, way better. I may rag on you sometimes, but It is wrong to do so, as you have done tons for me. :D

Thats a nice way to put it. Alot of Americans do get kind of full of themselves, and only think about America and like 5 other countries. We cant just assume that every American is like that though.
Americas main weakness is its people in my opinion. So many people are so quick to jump against their country in america that the freedom of speech deal really gets taken out of hand. When we go to war with another country it really looks like shit because all you ever see anywhere is its people protesting its war. I mean, things like Iraq suck, but we're in it so we might as well wish the best for our troops and everybody elses (Like England). We cant just eat ourselves from the inside out.
