Button mashing

As some of you know I got my PS2 with God of war. Well I'm stuck on the final Hydra on the first level. With the big one I button mash and button mash but I can never get it. Any of you Gamers out there have any good button mashing tips so i can finally press that O button fast enough?

Try doing it at different angles, or just laying the controller on the floor and pressing hard on it. Being fairly light allows you to press it without pushing it the whole way down, so that adds to the speed..

No in this button mash I have to push the button alot so the hydra's head will get bashed into the mast.

You must suck not being able to get past the Hydra. If you can't beat it that easily, you're going to get your ass OWNED by later bosses. But for the boss fight its self, I suggest you keep your hand on that circle button and press it when it pops up.

Get a controller with a turbo button.

Tense up all the muscles in your arm, and vibrate you finger. I discovered this technique after boosting for FF8.

I am actually starting to think it's a glitch in the game because with other games (RE4) when you have to run away fom the boulders I can do that easily. Plus all my other friends are saying it was easy. I will try with my friends older copy and see what happens.

I don't think the majority of the thread understands what he means. He's not talking about using cheap button mashing techniques to beat the boss, but that there is a part that he has to tap a button really fast to finish it or something.

I, like MisterDielectric, also kick ass in Melee with button mashing. But, I also stand in one spot and wait for someone else to come at me. Sure, it's cheap and cowardly, and I get bitched at alot for it. But you know what? It works.

My friend punched me a few times for doing the jump-punch attack over and over again with Donkey Kong. I couldn't help that my fingers would randomly mash that combo. But hey, if it works go with it.

I'll do anything that helps me own my friends in video games. ANYTHING.

I think this game forces you to hit the same button over and over. Sort of like the drinking section in chrono trigger
