But I admit I don't always do it. Just sometimes.

You mean like, you start typing something, and/or finish, then you read over your post and decide that it's not that good or you realize that the thread you're posting in sucks, so you simply don't post it? Yeah, I sometimes do that too. It's not odd, it's just being smart.
I proofread as I go.
But as MadCow, I believe, said, I'll type up the majority of a post, and then press back because it just doesn't fit in with the rest of the thread.
HINT HINT.
It's an automatic mechanism--I proofread MSN conversations and writings my friends did in school if I found spelling or grammar mistakes.

Penis. Funny.
I always read my posts before posting them, so I don't look like a retard.
hey good to see you're alive shrappy :3
mistyping my posts isn't usually my key error in posting, usually when i mess up it's due to me reading over the first post too quickly, and misinterpreting what they said, and then i get all embarrassed and apologize :(
Sometimes I do.
Mostly on the longer ones though.
If it's just a quick response, such as this, then chances are I don't proofread D:

I meant MetalDart, not MadCow. Blame me taking a small siesta while watching The Sting.
You may trout when ready.
I only read my posts about half the time

Well I try most of the time. The main thing you could complain about is that I phrase my posts how I would say the words. Because it makes sense to me.

Granted, it is easy to proofread your posts, but there is also the fact that (no offense) some people just have poor grammar.
But I agree, it is easy enough to proofread that a lot of mistakes (I think I spelled that right) can be weeded out.
How long until you are level 30, sir?
I'll be honest, Shrapnel. I never, EVER proofread my posts. 99 percent of the time, I read it as I go along, realize I fucked up, and move on, because my posts are always readable anyway. Oh well. An (extremely popular) forum is not exactly the greatest place to be searching for intelligence or coherence anyway, so I just take what I get.

No, now that I'm level 13, we're probably confused with each other quite a few times *sigh* Although I actually do the same thing MetalDart said he does. Or I'll start making a thread and decide not to because it's stupid :[
I'm a little OCD when it comes to proof reading, especially on NG because you can't fix the typo.
And I absolutely hate chat speak.
How much more could you display your lack of intelligence...

Alot of this community does that. I, myself, stop making roughly 80% of the posts that I start because they are either non-contributive, reasonably risk a ban, or don't have a point to establish.
Awesome post great job!
I honestly would post more, but as a few users already stated I tend to write out whole posts and then just hit back. If there was any substance in the topics that scroll along the first page I might be more tempted to hit the little Post It! button.
Now I'm paranoid and reread this post over about five times before I was happy with it.
Meh, I don't really proof-read my mistakes. I'll be truthful to you, I fucking hate english, but I still go through with, and end up getting A's. As for reading? Well, I haven't scored under 100 since last semester.
I mean, comeon, man, this is newgrouds FFS. I'm sure being a real grammar nazi's not in Wade's "good mod" list. Of course people are going to have shit grammar, not type in proper spaced paragraphs, or have run on sentences. It's only when people have such horrible grammar, that it's hard to understand, that anyone should criticize.
As for proofreading? Eh, not normally, I'll check if I posted a link in a correct manner, or put word positioning in proper places, but besides that, I don't normally spell check, because I know my words are all readable.
Bob had bitch tits
i noticed i couldnt care less when i drink... when im sober i try to make my posts neater

Proofreading is only for serious topics where the user posts more than one paragraph. Otherwise some mistakes are ignorable. Only when the user repeatedly post with errors does it become really annoying.
int experience, posts;
while(experience/10 >= posts)
{posts++};
I do it most of the time, *Spell checks*
You know what would be really neat? These things actually being noticeable.

This is a forum, dammit, not a fucking instant message box. Proper grammar applies...drives me nuts when people don't make a basic effort to sound intelligent.
One of my pet peeves in Flash movies is when people misspell. I mean, really, thousands of people are viewing your work and you can't take five minutes to just re-read (or have someone else do it!) your writing. To me it seems like it should be a tad bit embarrassing to realize you stuck a bunch of incorrect words on your movie...
Yeah, I proof read my posts... and if I muffed something up I edit my posts on message boards where I can. Actually, 99% of my posts end up getting edited. I really don't like adding one sentence as a new post if I can just edit a previous one... That's another reason I don't post really at all on the BBS, cause most topics are just fifty one-sentence posts that don't really have any substance at all. I realize this isn't the place for "seriousness" but... hey, that's why this is only my second post.
Even more so than spelling or proofreading, I just don't think one should post unless there is something worth while to be said. A few words or a single sentence just seems like a waste of space and energy.
Demonstrating intelligence through complete sentences and grammatical accuracy is difficult to observe on NG because, from what I have seen, the average user age is 14 or 15. So, you're not going to see a bunch of "kids" that really care about conveying thoughts appropriately.
If I'm wrong, that's kind of even worse. I don't want to think about a whole bunch of adults LOL-ing and 1337-ing...

And you will find it rare that I ever have an 'uncapitalized' I or misspellings, If I do then its probably late...

I have always been a good poster - or tried to be.
I usually assume I'm flawless, and if I do notice an error, I just delete it and repost it. >_>

my bad.
I don't proofread. I make tons of mistakes...
but I can write papers with zero mechanical mistakes.
I'm so damn lazy to rered everything I write.
When people make a typo here and there, it is excusable.
No one has to proof read every single thing they write - I don't . What I am talking about is when someone writes something that is barely comprehensible.
There are several threads where you have no idea what someone is talking about.
I can't find the threads I was reading the day I made this thread. The ones I read that day were absolutely horrible. I felt dumber for reading them.
Instead, I will give some examples of other threads.
A thread like this is ok:

A thread like this has little stimulus for discussion:
http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic.php?id=68 7866
Weak composition:
http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic.php?id=68 7334
Borderline unintelligible:

Someone posting a shitty e-mail chain letter:
http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic.php?id=68 7247
Also borderline unintelligible:

You can understand it but it doesn't flow properly:

Of course - but the majority of posts you make don't require too much thought. That and the majority of us can string together words quickly to create meaning.
I've also noticed recently that my comma abuse has become worse and worse. I'm trying to work on that, subtley.
Online conversations lend themselves to comma abuse. It's not a big deal unless you're trying to put forth an argument or tell a proper story.

This is a perfect example of when a post is borderline difficult to understand.
Is the argument getting repetitive? Site community? But for what?
