I'm half-Chinese, half-Caucasian, but I look mostly Asian and the vast majority of my relatives that I've met are my Asian relatives. I'm going to visit China this summer right after I graduate high school. It'll be awesome. Hopefully this club will be pretty cool.

Also, what is everyone doing here? I saw that anyone can discuss anything but of late, it just seems like some people just "register" themselves here and then hush up about it.

hi. i'm asian too. as i figure, the purpose of the club is to talk about random stuff.

i am a little concerned about the english standard in hong kong. i remembered watching a TV programme on the topic. it is surprising to see the english standard in hong kong is only slightly higher than that in japan and south korea. a shame indeed as hong kong is an international city.

when tourists visiting hong kong ask for directions, hong kong people usually can't find the right words and just reply by saying 'i don't know' despite having received at least 9 years of education. i think this is because of the way english is taught here. they focus too much on multiple choices questions, matching, and other skills that are not practical in classes and exams. the other reason is that teenagers refuse to use proper english during lessons and day to day conversations, and simply translate their sentences word for word.

any thought on this?

I am assuming that there are no actual Asian people in this thread because Asian people live in Asia, not in any other continent and seeing how there are little to no Asian people that use Newgrounds, none of these claims of "Asianess" are correct.

I don't see how it's racist to do this. In America it's perfectly normal and sometimes encouraged for minority groups to be in clubs like that. There's Asian fraternities and sororities in colleges, Asian clubs in high school (sometimes called Asian Culture Club), and whatnot.

There used to be a Latino Pride Club at my school.

People would view a "white club" to be racist, and even though in a way it doesn't seem fair, that's just how it's viewed by most people.

I think most of the users on the BBS who are from Asia are from the Philippines and Hong Kong from what I've seen.

Gone for a while, what did I miss. And finally got into more than 3 classes. I think when I look back at my previous posts here, I thought: What the fuck was I thinking? I was angry at that time I guess.
