I think it's really funny about Imus getting fired, but it all depends on whether or not he's talked like that before. If he's never said that before, then he might be either kidding or really a racist. But since we're not him we might not know. Unless some one here has listened to his show before.

The reason there were so many supporters to fire him was because uninformed idiots have never heard of him before and just hear these clips were he says racist things.

If anyone actually took some time to actually watch his show or learn anything about the man they would find out he is blatantly not a racist.

I think he's a racist old man, there's tons of them, it's not big deal, really. I don't think his show should have necessarily been cancelled, the suspension was punishment enough in my opinion, but I didn't even listen to his show, so I guess I'm sort of indifferent.

The only reason people get all hyped up on racism is because they make such a big thing about it. If Don Imus was black, this wouldn't even be news. But no, since a white guy said something deragatory to a black girl he's the devil. What he said wasn't even racist.

Personally, I think that the word n*gger shouldn't be such a big deal. Remember back when Negro was politically correct? Now the word Negro is racist. The word N*gger actually has latin roots. I believe the word for black in Lating is actualy Niger. So essentially, saying N*gger is just like calling someone black. I just don't really see a problem with it.

Nappy headed hos doesn't seem that racist to me... And as Travis from Reno 911 said in both his bulletin and his blog on myspace

And why the hell was al sharpton listening to Don Imus anyway? I tell you the truth -- I suspect he wasn’t, or it wouldn’t have taken him a week to demand a sit down with Imus. So -- q.e.d.: Deductive reasoning: Al must secretly be pretty tight with some white dude -- or he wouldn’t have heard about what was on the Don Imus show at all.
I think folks out to stop freaking out about what’s being said on morning zoo shows, especially shows that they don’t even listen to. If folks are gonna freak out about stuff on the radio, they should freak out about Car Talk. Those two old dudes are obviously high on something, or they would crack each other up so much.

It amazes me how folks actively look for $#^T to get offended about. Yes, he made a racist and sexist joke. But it's Imus. Everyone knows he's a Shock Jock. How many Gangsta rappers refer to women as nappy-headed hos..... or even worse. But no one makes a federal case out of that.

I guess denegrating women is okay if you're the same race as the women you're insulting and treating like shit.

But Hell, Imus is 66 and rich! He's not going to suffer over this. Not really. As for his career...... Watch Serius or XM hire him for satellite radio. (Apparently Al Sharpton ran out of serious issues to use as a reason to call for a press conference).

If the basketball team was mostly white, or if Imus were black, nothing would've happened. But holy fuck, he referred to the them as "hoes," that's an outrage! This is the first time anybody has ever jokingly called women hoes on TV, he completely deserves to be fired after forty years of the show.

I don't think he should've been punished at all. It was a decent show and he joked like that all the time, this time it just happened to be black people. The people on the team cried and said "My whole life is ruined because of what he said!" Bull shit. I'm sure there's a shitload of people that have been called hoes before, it never affects anybody's life. Maybe now that the phrase has been repeated ten thousand times on every news channel for the past week with the team's names and faces on screen people might see one of them and say something, but it still won't be damaging at all and it'll only last a few weeks depending on how long it takes for everybody to shut the fuck up. And what about his ranch 'n all that shit? The show was his source of money, he won't be able to donate and all that shit anymore.
