I think our current system causes many of us to act that way so it really isn't natural

True, it does. But it does not require us to act in a completely inhuman manner. Assuming we will all get along fine and be happy without order and hierarchial structure... requires everyone to exhibit inhuman restraint and denial of core human aspects such as greed.

Face it, humans are pack animals. Heirarchy is built-in. If you've ever felt jealous, then you have first-hand knowledge of human greed, and the desire to see others underneath you.
I feel hate sometimes but I have self discipline. I won't go on a stabbing rage because I can regulate myself. That is what people need to do or they will suffer in the long run.

True. But not everyone has our self-restraint. And very few of those wihout self-restraint even acknowledge or even realize the consequences of their actions. Anarchy does not adress this.

In other words~
Anarchy is a good idea. But not for humans. We'd ruin it's purity.
Therefore, it is an overly idealistic and naive doctrine. A bad idea.
I am happy you shared. What can I say? You are strong minded and I respect that but what if a time came where anarchy was posed as a new form of gov't....would you accept it?

I would. I'd also immeadiately take up karate and buy all the guns I could.

I guess the whole "becoming a badass" thing I'd be forced to develop from anarchy would be the only concrete good thing I see coming from the situation. I'd have to go out and take karate also.

Otherwise, though-

No. Bad, bad idea. Entirely too idealistic. I'd rather have a monkey be president. At least then, there'd be all the current laws we have now, and at worst, Mr. Bananas does a silly dance and flings some poo on the 11 O' Clock news.

Ever see "Monkey for President" on Camp Chaos? Feel free to witness its magnificence here.

Word to the wise, Nirvana... don't ever close your own topic.

White America lived for several pages (in the teens somewhere), and a couple months. Every page had at least one good point and counter-point.

I am not closing it just ending the debate on my behalf. I will answer any questions and I am sure people will have lots to say in the future.

I have concluded that Anarchy is something many fear in a sense because there really isn’t a complete structure like there is now. I want people to be informed before they decide that is impractical but I am not an anarchist and I haven’t read everything on anarchy so I might not be representing the idea to its full potential but I am glad to see that people recognize the greatness of it. Anarchy is my ideal form of society but just as it has been said man has a destructive, greedy nature therefore it is quite unrealistic to think that every man will reform to fit the idea of an Anarchist society.

Anarchy is not impractical in the sense that it can’t work once put into effect. If Anarchy would try to have some type of control over the acts of human nature then it would contradict its purpose but man is free at the moment he chooses to be but until mankind chooses to be we won’t be.

as in all aspects of life faith is what's required. Not faith in a God but in your fellow man, why would people change if no one acts as if they have? Is selfishness and violence human nature or a self fulfilling prophecy?
Everyone makes a choice and no choice affects only you.

Shih people only care about how that choice will affect oneself.I used to think the key to humanity,to salvation was faith but that was a primative thought.I understand why man does not have faith in himself take a look at our history, still the government shapes our lives we are molded into hating ourselves the reason that they continue to stay in power is by keeping us weak we believe that we could never fight against such a force that without them we would be vulnerable and lost. How can anarchy be seen as anything less than impractical when it has always been shown under such negative light. The truth is anarchist are decent respectable people they just dont want a government. Many of the people that think anarchy is impractical dont necessarily disagree with the people that are pro-anarchy they both see the injustice of the world the stupidity of politicians, the abuse of power, and the need for change, but anarchy has become a joke constantly ridiculed for good reason though, they have to make this idea so un-appealing to man that such an event could never take place. The necessity of authourity is carved into our minds. They have to believe that authourity is essential in order to justify their own crimes.

Anarchy is not just mindless destruction as authorian types will have you believe it has nothing to do with destruction it is about the practical struggle of the working class of the masses of tired souls wanting change. Why is the state so determined to make it seem hopeless?

Man needs his own revolution within himself for anything to work we will never have utopia because-

"Man is evil capable of nothing but destruction"(planet of the apes)
