I really liked the demo, just thought the platforming aspect of it was massively disappointing. I remember reading about them stressing the parkour-esque movement through the ruined environments in early news about it and thought that sounded cool, but the platforming as far as a playable game mechanic is almost non-existent. There's lots of jumping around and traversing beautiful environments, but there's zero skill in it. It's just "point to the shiny object and press X to activate platforming animation". There's no trial and error or skill to it, which bummed me out.

We need a good parkour game! One based solely on the art of running and jumping. And not Mark Echo's Get Up or whatever it was called.

Mirror's Edge?

I don't know what parkour is, but running and jumping sounds a lot like Mirror's Edge.

The 'press X to jump up to a ledge, shimmy across with the analouge stick, press X again' thing works for me.
Worked in InFamous, Assassins Creed and uh.. others..
At any rate, it wouldn't take anything away from the game for me.

I did like Mirror's Edge, but I want a Third Person one with a huge open environment. Basically GTA with parkour. Don't even need driving abilities or weapons. I could go with punching dudes out and just jumping around.

Also, forgot to mention yesterday, but "Betty and Me" that went up on Rock Band Network is one of the best guitar tracks in ages.

Impossible difficulty (the hardest one), but it's not just bullshit unfair shredding wankery like a lot of them are where you're just supposed to hit 4 notes over and over faster than it's humanly possible to do so, it's a mental banjo solo that's all over the place instead and it's so fun.

Going to keep trying it until I can get through with a decent score. Passed first go, but only got 3 stars because I couldn't keep a combo going.

Got to play the Assassins Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer beta today, really dug it. It's tons of fun, but it gets infuriating when you have a whole round where someone kills you as soon as you're standing next to your target.

I was watching some gameplay of AC: Brotherhood. It looked terribly boring, but everyone is saying it's actually fun. I suppose I'll rent it anyway. Can't see myself spending money on it.

My friend bought a ps2 hard drive back when XI came out, and i was so hype for an mmo on my ps2. After watching it though, I could say resolutely that it was the worst game I had ever seen. And after watching live streams and previews, I saw this coming from a mile away. Games like Everquest and DAoC had environements full of quests and shit to do. They were also made 10 years ago, so they could be excused for some of the long walks; After all, exploring such a vast world was its own reward in games like Ultima, and even though it still is, any good game would augment it with quests and raids and fun things to do. Exploring a barren, lifeless world with few quests, lag galore, shitty crafting mechanics, ok you know what fuck it. This game is fucking garbage, its not even worth my time to continue typing.

Preordered Black Ops at my local game shop this morning, traded Uncharted 2 to pay a bit off it. They're charging the same as GAME and HMV so it made more sense to just get it from there.

Well, it's not that bad. I was probably going to neglect it because of Black Ops anyway. Downloaded the KZ3 theme. Still about 7,000 places left for the beta in Europe. Looking foward to it now, I havn't killed any Higs in ages.

And Killzone 2 is a very good shooter. Been playing it recently (for weeks in fact). It's a shame about the online trophies. And even with all the single player ones its only going to be like 40%. Waaaaay too many DLC trophies.

I got an email from Lovefilm saying that they're teaming up with PS3 too. I love this news as it means I can finally stream films in bed. I can finally see Old Boy :D.
