10 hours into Mass Effect 2 already and I've only just finished Kasumi: Stolen memories and Overlord DLC, I've only picked up a few characters so I'm going to finish Lair of the Shadow Broker and then finish off with the main story.

Lair is best played post-main story, by the way.

Guess I'll see when I find out. I did enjoy Overlord a lot because it scared the fuck out of me when I first encountered the Rogue IV on the computer monitor on the first base especially since my TV had full volume blast.
Still got a few more characters to find so that I can finish getting the squad members mission done.

Overlord was great, certainly a close second to Shadow Baker, which was just.. *Japanese school girl squeel*

I didn't like Overlord.
Shitty vehicle sections. I mean, it's not as bad as the Mako or anything, but it was still shit.

Looks pretty good, similar to Heavy rain?
Also if anybody has LBP2, I would like to hear what you think about it, as I'm dying to get it!

The Overlord vehicle sections were quite nice, I thought.
Gave a bit of a break to the linear levels that the Mako broke up in ME1.

I'm going to have to wait a while otherwise I'll stop playing Mass Effect 2 if I buy Dead Space 2.
Didn't realise I had so many resources as well from scanning planets as well so I've upgraded a ton of shit on ME2. Just hope I can find a bunch more upgrades.

So, Dead Space 2, or more accurately "More Dead Space 1" since it's exactly the same fucking game.
Like:
Voiced Isaac. He loses some badassery in not being a mute, but average characterization is better than no characterization.
Weapons other than the Plasma Cutter being worthwhile. It was the best weapon for every single situation in the first game, but it just doesn't cut it in some places here. Hordes of kids are a nightmare for it, but fall easily to the Ripper.
Dislike:
Nothing new. At all.
Sections lifted straight from the first game. Being pulled around by tentacles and having to shoot the massive glowing yellow bits and such.
The setting. It'll do, but the Ishimura was way more interesting.
The complete lack of ANY scares whatsoever. Not even jump ones. Are they still seriously pretending this is a horror game?

'Nothing new' is a retardedly retarded exaggeration.
There's a shit ton of new things, and many of the (great) things from the first game only work to improve those new things.
There was one minor section that involved being pinned down and having to shoot the yellow.. bit.. several times, and it wasn't even remotely similar to the tentacle dragging in the first game, though I can't see how it would matter if it was.
You realise this is the sequel, right?
As in, of-course-it's-going-to-have-similar-fro m-the-first-game-because-it's-the-second -game-which-in-parts-takes-place-in-the-
setting-of-the-first-game, the sequel.
What do you want, Necromorphs dressed up like clowns just so the game shares no similarities with the first?

What new shit is there? The stupidly overpowered buff to Kinesis that makes the game easy even when you have no ammo? The slight change to how zero G works?
It's the same fucking game. Even very similar games like Uncharted 1 and 2 feel very different from each other. Dead Space 2 could be an expansion pack.
This isn't to say I'm not having fun with it, though.

Finished Mass Effect 2 and I managed to save it only exactly 24:00 in playtime. Too bad some of my team members died which really sucked because I was hoping to get the suicide mission trophy easily, guess I'm going to have to do a New Game+
50% through the trophies as well and I've yet to unlock the Cerberus code which I haven't used yet.

I recently downloaded Spyro and Lead and Gold, or whatever it's called, because they were free. Both are surprisingly solid and fun.

So yeah, finished Dead Space 2.
Disappointing. 6/10, tops. There were a few sections I liked, but on the whole there were too many set pieces which just had you stand still and fight hordes of necromorphs with the awkward controls clearly not designed for this sort of thing.
This led to incredibly frustrating sections like the bit on top of the drill, or the fucking stupid regenerating thing which was handled AMAZINGLY in the first game and was one of the few genuine scares in it, but this time is just irritating given the complete lack of atmosphere and the fact that the entire sequence boils down to firing stasis at everything and running away.
Won't be playing this again.

I didn't like the demo, but I'm thinking of renting it just for the story. How long is it?

Longer than the first, but massively long.
Story is shit compared to the first game anyway.

I'm FINALLY playing through Assassin's Creed II. It took me a while to start it up with hundreds of other things getting in my way but now it feels really good to play this game. I can see why this game is said to be a lot better than the original. I even played this game for 7 hours straight on Friday night and I can't remember the last time I even played a game for that long without any breaks.
Now that I feel I can get through some PS3 games I'm needing to play through, I'll be confident with getting more games for the console as well as borrowing any games from my sister and future brother-in-law. I've asked her if I could borrow FFXIII (yes, I know the game is said to be bad but I should at least make my own judgment on it rather than listening to others) and I still have RE5 to beat.

Once you get into it it's pretty hard to put down. Getting all the feathers and glyphs will be a pain though.

Of course. I'm even wanting to take the PS3 downstairs in the living room and play it now while my parents are away for one night, thus making the big TV free.

Yeah, I'll have to search hard for the feathers but I could have sworn the game would warn you of glyphs nearby. It seemed to have only done that for the first two.

I had tons of fun with it, and that's just from finishing the story.
There's lots of new gadgets, materials, stickers, and the community levels are more varied now. There's this one called "Blast Radius", which is Asteroids with a supernova going off for a background, and there's a remake of the first Zelda that I found. They're great fun.
One of my favourite things is the costume variety they added in. For example, there's a fish bowl hat complete with fish swimming around your head, and there's a Mr. Moon cape with neon stripes spinning and twirling around it.
And the story itself is lots better. It's definitely shorter, which was disappointing, but the levels are a lot more varied and are overall more fun than those in the first. Also, the ending's great. What Stephen Fry says is very inspiring.
Just keep in mind that all of your stuff from LBP1 carries over (even DLC) so don't delete your data for it.

I thought that too, until I got to the ending levels. It just loses it's sense of fun completely, and just turns into yet another plat former. I think it was a big disappointment, I really do.
