Seriously guys, get Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter.
It's incredible. Just killed my first T-Rex. They're unfairly difficult.
It even has engrish in it, being made by Russians and all. The gameover screen has the message "YOU HAS DIED!"

Although I've only played MGS4 once, I thought it was a fantastic experience, especially how everything nicely wrapped up. I really should go through it again but I'll have to borrow it from my sister's fiance. I think the best time will be when Rising is close to its release date.

I don't understand how anyone could play through MGS4 and not find a fun way to play it.
I used to go guns blazing through every MGS game and it was still my favorite series of games.
When I went for the Big Boss emblem in 4 the change in pace was the most fun i had ever had playing the entire game.
There's just so many options and decisions you can make to play the game it's crazy.

HURT...ME...MOREEEEEEEE...
They still never gave it trophies (dammit Hideo), despite just one playthrough I enjoyed it. Started playing AC2 for the second time since I got it at Christmas today. Was only an hour in and I'm now on sequence 8, it gives you trophies for fun. Also, I love the hidden blades, probably a bit too much.
Gonna keep playing until Dogs Days comes on the 20th. Got the Limited Edition so I'll get exclusives and I got Leon on bluray for free.
Also, some people are just way too easy, lol.

Speaking of guns, was I the only one thought MGS4 had a ridiculous amount of weapons to choose from? As far as I know, I only needed 5 - 7 of them.

I could have sworn MGS4 had trophies. I thought that was when it was mandatory for PS3 games to have trophies (well, if they have that mandatory rule, that is). With or without trophies, I'll still enjoy the game a lot.

It has 69 or 70 weapons, I think.
But yeah, I only used weapons that were/could be silenced most of the time, which is a shame, because some of the ones that can't be are my favourites.

It is, but MGS4 was released before Sony put that little rule in place.
Don't know why they wouldn't patch it, though. Maybe they were busy with Peace Walker or something.

I want to know how Uncharted 2 can get much better than the first one? I haven't played the second one yet, so don't spoil anything big, but I just can't see how Drake's Fortune can be topped? What did they do that made it better?

Uncharted 2 is somewhat OTT compared to Uncharted 1.
Also, Chloe's ass.

Yep, silenced weapons were helpful, although we needed a few missile weapons. But yeah, so many weapons in the game and only a portion of them you'll ever use. Maybe my second playthrough will show me the uses of other weapons.

Considering the game was released before the rule was put in place, I get the feeling they won't ever put trophies in MGS4 but either way, it's good for me.

Uncharted 1 is so bad. My mind really aches wondering how this game is so well liked.
Uncharted 2 is far better in every way but its still no where near the level everyone claims it is.
I'll always be bitter about this game.

Really I think its just a matter of visual preference. You can go through the entire game (minus bosses I suppose) needing nothing more than 1 handgun or that M4 (?) thats incredibly customisable. But every now and then its nice to pick a gun that just looks cool.
I'd rather have too much choice than too little.

GTAIV added trophies, though quiet quickly.
In time I reckon MGS4 will get them. The series has always had extra things added to it a while after it beens released.

In my opinion, it's not.
Sure, most of the stuff from the first one was improved quite well, but Sully only appears twice.
Yes, that's the sole reason why I like the first better.

Yeah, there's this special silenced and automatic sniper rifle SMG thing in Act 2.
And yet, it's weak, it has a slow rate of fire, only holds 10 rounds, it's so hard to find that you'd never think to look there without a guide, and it has less range than an MP5DS2. Also, its ammo's fairly expensive and, without buying it, can only be found in the same place that you find it.
And on top of that, people probably compare it to other sniper rifles like the M14, which basically has everything listed above but better. It's a bit of a shame, really.

It brought an Indiana Jones adventure to consoles, it was one of the first good games on the PS3 (it's "great for a PS3 game" would be a good sum-up phrase for reviews at the time), and it had a good mix of creative platforming with decent gunplay. Those 3 things made it stand out initially.
Uncharted 2 is far better in every way but its still no where near the level everyone claims it is.

How so? It was fun, the best ratio of platforming-action that I've seen, had a good story, and was an incredibly tight game. And that's on top of the voice acting, graphics, and cinematics. Sure, it had some minor flaws like sometimes not being able to find the ledge you had to jump on and the impossible-to-kill mutated guys (until you get a grenade launcher or magic crossbow), but those are minor quibbles compared to the eternal orgasm that is Uncharted 2.

You could try slitting their throat, suffocating them, shooting them in the back of the head, etc.
I like how the gameplay is seamless, after all having to view a scene every time you take someone out would be time consuming.

Finished the story on AC2. Just have to find the rest of the glyphs and feathers and I'll have the plat.

I've yet to play Uncharted 1 but I'm sure both Uncharted games will be what I'll borrow from my sister next.
I'd rather have too much choice than too little.
Hey, I never complained about the range of weapons you had in MGS1. Infact, I thought it was perfect. Every weapon had its own use and none of them felt useless. Well, maybe Claymore but at least you could have some fun with that.

I thought the gunplay was awful. Its that what killed it for me. And its why I prefer the second as those issues are improved greatly.
I've never been a fan of these sort of games anyway.

I think Uncharted did a much better job of translating Indiana Jones to consoles than Tomb Raider. Tomb Raider had a different feel than Uncharted/Indiana Jones.

Like I said, decent. It did what it had to do, and nothing more.

it gives the die hard fan a challange and the casual gamer fun but I would srsly play all the games up from metal gear nes to metal gear solid 3 ps2 to get any of the references and easter eggs man i was laughing throughout the whole game

31244, I'm going to give you a few pointers on how to post. If you can't listen, you're going to be kicked out. If you haven't noticed, we try to keep our posts looking nice.
1. Grammar. Capital letters go on proper nouns and at the beginnings of sentences. Watch for subject-verb agreement. Use paragraphs to break up your posts based on the ideas you're presenting to make it easier for the reader to comprehend what you're saying. Use commas, periods, semi-colons, and dashes correctly.
2. Proof read. Make you spelled everything correctly. Make sure you used the right words. Make sure you didn't majorly fuck up anything in your post. I like to use the "Teacher Test"; would I be willing to hand this post in to be graded by a teacher (not based on content)?
3. Add humor to your posts. It's hard to get noticed in this thread; you either have to be a faggot (scecth00 [no, we will never let you live down your actions in this thread, but that's why we love you]), a dick (TheMaster), or hilarious (Jerkapotamus). The rest of us fight whatever attention we can get, and adding humor is the easiest way to get noticed without alienating yourself.
If you don't learn quick, we'll can easily call a mod over (a real mod, not that piece of shit Ben) and delete any future posts you might make here.
