Obviously I'd have used it for other things, but there was nothing else on the Xbox besides the GTA content that would have made me buy one.

You'll be amazed at how well it works. I used to find them awkward when I was a kid but I'm so used to them now.

As for the statement on RPGs being better on where, like you said, Elder Scroll-style games are better on PC while those along the lines of Final Fantasy and others are better for consoles. I couldn't imagine myself playing Final Fantasy on the PC at all.

I've played PC games for such a prolonged length of time that it has become comfortable. But I still think its incredibly awkward to move your little finger around trying to crouch or run or using your thumb for similar things.
Using an analogue stick and having multi-function buttons just seems easier to me.

Paul I think that it's only required if you want to be the Squad Leader. From what that says, headsets will be needed to make orders as Platoon & Squad leaders.

So yeah. Bundle MAG with a Sony Bluetooth for the same $60 and you'll have my money. My Sony Bluetooth broke on me sometime after SOCOM came out.

Players given the opportunity to playtest the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Final Fantasy XIII side-by-side have been reporting the in-game graphics of the Xbox 360 version are noticeably inferior to those of the PS3.

Ah. I smiled.

Ah. I smiled.

Doesn't change the fact it's terribly linear. More so than your standard JRPG. Even the Japanese thought it was crap and they'll eat up any JRPG.

Tonight, one of my acquaintances had a "dare night," which essentially consisted of doing a bunch of stupid things on a list. My team decided right away that everything on the list was lame, so we decided to find something more adventurous.

I live about 20 minutes from Clearwater, so we decided to go to the Scientology headquarters for some lulz. We drove up and were scared shitless. The security they have around their main buildings is pretty intimidating. We decided to park a few blocks away in a small little restaurant parking lot. We came up with cover stories, since we didn't want them to have our real names or phone numbers. One of my friends was pretending to be our physics teacher who we utterly despise. He gave them the school's phone number; we're hoping they call the school and ask to speak to him about Scientology. I impersonated another kid at our school, and give the phone number of the hose of this dare night.

The inside of the church was actually a bit of a letdown. We were led from video to video by an Italian guy named Francisco. He gave us some of the usual crazy shit you hear about Scientology, like the spirits influencing your emotions and how it's important to purify yourself of those spirits. They invited us to the service tomorrow, which apparently was going to be REALLY good. They also gave us a DVD of all the videos we had seen and a 200 question personality, so that we can see what's wrong with us.

We ended up spending about 40 minutes in that place. I'm considering turning in the personality test, but I guess it would be a good idea not to get too involved, even for humor's sake. Clearwater really has been taken over by Scientology; Francisco said they have 35 buildings there. We passed by one a few blocks away that had its windows fogged out so you couldn't see inside. A bunch of suits came out and hopped on a bus.

Anyways, interesting bro-out session; way better than "dare night."

BJ Penn demolished Diego Sanchez in tonights UFC Championship fight. My god that fight was amazing. Penn gave Sanchez such a strong High Kick to the forehead that a giant cut opened up and the match was ended after Penn beat the shit out of him when the cut opened.

Only games that have support for ingame music can well, play ingame music.

Anyway, my father is a douchebag hehe. He broke his PS3 a few months after SOCOM came out and he's been meaning to buy a new one. He said he's gonna buy every game I buy so he can beat the shit out of me in the game, and then he's gonna throw the games out.

I was like "O_O"

Haven't been here in a while but I thought it be worth while to update all those who haven't heard yet about PS3 being finally cracked, at least from a technical perspective.

PS3 Hacked article via Engadget.

There may not be a custom firmware out or anything extraordinary in terms of home brewed software but it's very close to it. Essentially the same guy who cracked the iPhone/iTouch, had spent the better of his last six months of time, trying to crack this thing and he pledges that he has successfully obtained full read/write access to the entire system memory and complete control over the processor -- all without a mod chip.

And what does this mean in less technical terms? It's possible to place a different unsigned firmware on the PS3. Since the possibilites of custom firmwares on the PSP are essentially endless, just think what they will be able to do with the PS3. I bet we will be finally able to play music and play games at the same time or just maybe... be able to use the PSP as a controller.

Until Sony starts forcing you to update to the latest firmware if you want to continue online play ;(

Having a dual firmware setup might solve this, but I think that would ultimately require a modchip.

When people will be able to get entire games for free, I doubt they will care about having access to the PlayStation Store to get free lousy demos.

Probably not but lets just hope that the modders don't think of creating a Pandora PowerSupply *Snare drum*.

I hope the damn thing doesnt require alot of skill to mod, cuz most of the ingame music sucks for games. I would love to play my own music, and be even happier if sony released an update of some sort to let you do that. Whatever, i will stop caring when i get my computer fixed so i can listen to music and mute the game entirely.

Kman - It's called: MP3 + Headphones. There's your ingame music.

Anyway, that guy didn't hack shit. All he did was bypass one security wall, and slammed right into another. He hasn't hacked the software, nor the BluRay drive itself. There won't be any CFW or burned games on the PS3 for a LONG time. Don't let that guy fool you. There's a reason this shit has been unhackable for so long, and he said that he did it in 15 weeks or so? Fuck no.

if it's a mandatory update that is, which it usually is

So I got MAG on Saturday, the collectors edition with the exclusive armour, camo and dynamic themes. I've either been sniping (rather well actually) or rushing into bases like a tool, killing 5 people and then getting blown up. Also, unlocked the 50 cal, it's nearly always a one hit kill ^^

Well with that sort of mentality, this generation is never going to hack this thing. Nothing is impossible, if it's there; there's a method to bypass the system to get it.

Yep, that's what I do with any game where I don't feel like listening to the game's music. I haven't even put any songs on the PS3 as that's what my External Hard Drive is for. Also, listening to iPod when playing games means more plays sent to Last.fm so it's good for me.

Never going to happen. You thing studios are going to be happy after spending money on someone to compose a soundtrack to their games only to have Sony let people listen to whatever they want?

I can understand custom soundtracks in stuff like racing games or arcade stuff like Super Stardust, but not in anything else. For anything with a plot, the music adds to the atmosphere. It's just as important as the visuals.
