You get YLOD, but don't have $150 to fix it? Fix it yourself for under $25. The website says you can even make money by buying broken PS3 on Ebay for cheap, fixing them, then reselling them.

3.10 released today. Checked for it around 5 PM EST, but nothing was on. Haven't checked since, so it might be up.

I never knew there was a YLOTD, I've had my PS3 since release and no problems with it at all.

Tony Hawk Ride is being torn up by reviewers. 1/5 from G4. 5.75 from GI.

Activision really tried to delay the damage too. Basically, they told reviewers if they wanted a day 1 review, they had to go to a three-hour long Activision event. Otherwise, they had to buy their own copy. Interestingly, the G4 review says that they were able to finish the game within the time of that event. If that means he was able to finish the game in three hours, that's even more hilarious. That's why most of the major news sites haven't put up their reviews though. I don't expect Activision's tactics will help the sales of the game though; it's going to absolutely die at retail.

I'm glad it is, the Tony Hawk games started sucking after the Pro Skaters, it's true. THUG was an alright one though, I liked the KISS level they had, maybe that was THUG2, though to say. Either way, TH games have really gone downhill. Skate kind of took over the skateboarding games anyway.

Overall I would say the categories and what not are pretty accurate, the only GLARING omission would be that of Wipeout HD Fury for best DLC. Otherwise go vote.

I think it is legit, but I don't think it means paying to play online. Perhaps people need to think outside the box?!

Sony has announced that the PS3 will be getting full support for stereoscopic 3D glasses in a free firmware update.SCE CEO Kazuo Hirai lays out their plan:"The firmware of all currently released PS3s will be upgraded to make them compatible with [stereoscopic] 3D games. As a result there is no need to buy any new hardware to play these 3D games."The functionality and games are set for release in 2010; there is no word on whether only future games will support the stereoscopy, or whether previously released games will be upgraded to support it, which sounds optimistic to say the least. As with any console accessory, an unrealistically expensive set of official 3D glasses seems likely, although making proprietary 3D glasses would be quite a feat.Seemingly the PS3 goes from strength to strength, with the only serious opposition it is likely to face coming from Microsoft's supposedly revolutionary Project Natal, although this system seems more targeted at the Wii.

Apparently it's confirmed that Sony are looking at ways to add a premium service to PSN (although online play will remain free).. this isn't as bad as it sounded. That slide looks incredibly fake though - "non-game (video, comic etc)" wtf does comic mean? Why would there be comic distribution over PSN? That doesn't make any sense to me. Also announcing a non-game SDK for release in Q2 of 2010.. so developers can produce.. office applications? Seriously, this slide looks like the sort of thing someone would mock-up.

I definately wouldnt worry about the paid service stuff. Right now one of the main things the ps3 lourds over the xbox is its free online services. I would be more interested in seeing a revamping of the QORE system or other entertainment related subscription services. PS3 and PSP rental services, comic rental services, video rental services to augment netflix, paying to access early betas and psn games, etc, etc. Online will never be stratified though, dont kid yourself.

The PS3 now notifies you that the PS3 was turned off improperly if it was turned off forcibly if it froze & asks if you want to send a report of it to Sony. New hidden feature in 3.10? Might be the only benefitial thing this update. Facebook integration isn't what I expected. The 360 kind is what I expected.

I told you, well informed Jerk anyway. Sony did say this is just the first phase though. I would stick to the PSN browser if you're set on going to Facebook on a console though.
