Everyone hates it at first. Get over your first playthrough and its not so bad

Protip 1: YOU CAN SPRINT IN THE SWAMP. You dont go particularly fast, but you can sprint in the swamp, remember that.
Protip 2: Giant trolls are easy 1v1. If you circle strafe with lockon underneath their club arm they will always swing over you.
Protip 3: If you are intent on running around in the swamp, put on the assassin or gloom armour for resists, it takes forever to get poisoned
Protip 4: Fight BP Selen and the NPC BP with Meat Cleaver on dry land. Both of them are pretty easy when done this way.
Protip 5: Regen gear. Poison is weak, but throw on a the ring, the shield and a blessed weapon and youre good to go.
Protip 6: Have fun :D

The trick for 5-2 is to stick to the right wall that you start by, and just sprint along it until you get to the 1st fog and subsequently solid ground. Once you get to that point you never have to go into the swamp again if my memory serves me right. Once you can get the bridge lowered, you won't have to go into the swamp even if you die.

I think I'll use the assassin armour seeing as I can't maneuver for shit with Gloom armour on, I use the ring of poison resistance too, seems to help

the thing with metacritic is that it takes the super critical (i think i saw a review with 80) and the down right dumb (100 OXM) i think you personally have to balance both, but i mean really?! 5 hours only? do you have a reliable source for that? MP is (from what i have seen) VASTLY improved, what got me with COD4, is the "noobiness" and lack of "variety" i really think they have actually improved on this, i know on the first day everyones going to runing around with SOH+SP but thats their choice, there will eventually be a backlash from the consumer (it already happended with the dedicated server thing) it "Will" sell millions but comon this will be FPS Bliss, if this can improve on MW then it deserves some credit, also can you back up the DLC thing? i heard that some stuff for MW2 was coming out next week but i didnt know it was DLC? is that correct? i know it isnt themes... so it might be that video add-on they were going to relasase as free DLC.

The Lack Of Story makes up for the MP, which i will probably clock about 15 Days... thats re-play abillity.

Really the single player is half of CoD4. I saw a stream and it reminds me of how goddamn short Mirror's Edge was.

The multiplayer does have some nice additions. I can't really fault the mutliplayer other than the nuke kill streak. It promotes campers and can ruin a good game. If it killed the other team but still continued the game then I would be a fantastic addition.

I probably pick it up used out of principle. I just don't agree with activision's AND IW's methods. Seriously they destroyed the PC version for no reason. Some of the things they come up don't even benefit them in anyway.

So far:

9v9 max players
No dedicated servers
No option to kick players
No dev console
"Special" features for PC include grapics settings, mouse support and text chat
No party chat for 360
100 MS mean "great" ping
No mod tools
Price hike
And to top it off calling their customers "Nerds" for objecting to their methods

Also, the CoD 4 map pack is 5 dollars. Are the maps shitty, or not? It's not really a money issue, or the fact that I'm "ruining the industry", but I'm not going to spend time and bandwith downloading shitty maps.

Don't get it. Modern Warfare 2 is not even a week away, which is why the maps are on sale.
2 are pretty good, the other 2 are shit.

The campagin is shorter than ODST, and the last level is a QT-cutscene. The online is even more unbalanced, and IW seems to be made up of cocks.

Here's an example. In an interview, they said that they regularly fired off guns to get the feel for them, and show them off realistically. In the same interview, they were asked if you could dual wield guns other than pistols. They replied with "I'm pretty sure it works with shotguns as well".

Oh, and when asked about why you should buy the PC port, they said that it gets exclusive features, mainly mouse support, text chat, and graphics options. Great.

Exactly. You can't go by how many are sold to prove how good a game is. Many people are buying MW2 based on how good CoD4 was, much like how they rebought CoD4 as WaW.

WaW wasn't that bad.

It was a generic WW2 shooter but it got more bad press than it deserved. The zombie mode was a welcome addition. In fact the online was a complete copy of CoD4 but with tanks and dogs.

MW2 has less content that WaW and it will get awards, high scoring reviews and sell a lot more more. There is no god.

Things in the sports world change. And the games do improve. Its not like they're just going copy and paste, move a few players, change a few names.

So you're saying the majority of proper gamers won't buy Call of Duty: MW2? I totally disagree with you there. I see why people are pissed at the lack of dedicated servers - it's a staple of PC gaming and it's a ballsy move to just take it completely away. However, I think it's a good idea to have a lobby system - it's part of the reason I like online on consoles.. I think IW should have kept a server browser, but made a lobby system the most prominent match making route.. so more 'casual' gamers can get a slice of the pie, and the more 'hardcore' gamers can still enjoy their clan servers, etc. In terms of the story mode, I think I'll play MW2 story more than I did MW1 because it has co-op (unless I'm very much mistaken) so I'll be able to play with my brother and friends, but I don't care if the story is too short.. 5-10 hours is fine for a first person shooter, I think. The main area of the game is obviously the multiplayer, and this is why most people are going to be purchasing the game. I know damn sure it's why I'm paying £45 for it, and I'm sure I'll get my moneys worth. Call of Duty 4 was probably the best purchase I've ever made - in a cost:entertainment(hours) sense, since I played for about 500 hours and it only cost me £40. It's on that promise that I'm buying the game.

Although it may seem to be only small changes, in recent years sports games have been increasing in quality quite a lot in between editions.. most notably Fifa.. if you look at 07, then 08, 09 and now 10.. the difference between each is very noticeable (the quality of the game, I mean, not just graphically because that is going to be an obvious area of improvement).
