Age Of Empires 1 Doesnt want to run

I found the cd in my drawer, fully unopened, but when i try to run it , it says that your video card is not enough for some directdraw bs, i mean FUCK, it runs doom 3, and fear and now it doesnt run adze of etimpirez. Help , Please.

If you liked that one try out the Age of Kings, it's pretty much the same thing except with better technology. :)

Yeah I played that and it is better when it comes to organising your troops and stuff. But I like the setting of the first Empires better. The whole greek phalanx thing.

I know, right. Question, is Age of Empires 1 a DOS game? If so, Google DOSBox, it's a good DOS emulator.

Run in compatibility mode.

Start > Run > dxdiag > display tab > Click test directdraw. Hope this helps.
