Here's the way I see it:
America is politically and economically superior to Europe. There's no disputing that we are the world's only remaining superpower.
Europe is socially superior to America. But, this is mainly because Europe doesn't have Bible-thumping redneck morons setting back progress. Also, it's because European countries don't have quite as much racial, ethnic, and religious diversity as the U.S. does, so they have less of these tensions to deal with.

How? That's funny that you say that considering people from Britain, Sweden, and Canada come to the US all the time and become US citizens. If they are better, then why do they come to the US at the first opportunity?
thank god that the dollar is so weak compared to the pound. None of those Americans can move here! :D
Um it doesn't matter what the value of the pound is vs. the dollar. Because the average American still makes a lot more money than the average British person in equivalent currency.
And... the reason Americans don't move there is because Britain sucks by comparison. That is why Brits come here, but Americans don't go there.

Not the first chance. There is no-one in the UK that lives their lives in anticipation of turning 16 and hotfooting it across the pond.

The average annual wages in the U.S. are $36,764 > ~£18,500
The average annual wages in the U.K. are £22,000 > ~$40,000
Not a huge difference but not as you suggest "a lot more" in favour of the Americans

Hmm. Reasoned debate once more. "Britain sucks" Verifiable statement? No. Opinopn of a small minded xenophobe? Yes

Acually I have friends who moved here from America and are now British citizens. And the other side of that coin is I also know a man who moved to New York for work. Couldn't hack it as a singer lol

Your figures are way of.
The average American wage is $£32,000, this figure is from wikipedia.
Average UK wage is £26,000 taken from gov stats site: http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?i d=334
So after using yahoo finance to convert with the true figures the conversions are like so:
$32,000 = £16,126.6232
£26,000 = $51,591.7075
So shut the hell up.

The average American wage is $£32,000, this figure is from wikipedia.
You stupid little kid. You put a dollar sign infront of the British pound sign. That doesn't make it dollars, that means it's $32,000 pounds, when converted is around $63,000. If that was, in fact the actual number you found.
Average UK wage is £26,000 taken from gov stats site: http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?i d=334
That's household income moron, meaning the sum of usually 2 or more people's wages!!!
So after using yahoo finance to convert with the true figures the conversions are like so:
$32,000 = £16,126.6232
£26,000 = $51,591.7075

You have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE WTF YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. You obviously don't understand that just because your currency is worth more, doesn't mean you make more money when the currencies are both converted to an equal value currency.
Allow me to educate you:
First of all, it's hard to calculate the average wage of any country accurately. And it's even harder to compare it's relative value between countries because in and of itself it means little. The only really accurate way to gauge average wealth is to divide the total income of the country (GDP) by its population (GDP per capita) with the purchasing power parity estimation (PPP).
Take a look at he list of countries by GDPPCPPP. Notice the graph on the right with the most recent 2006 estimations. All countries are listed in US dollars. Do you get that? It means that all their currencies are converted into US dollar value to make it easy to compare... therefore the value of their currency isn't a variable anymore.
The United States GDP per capita (PPP) is: $43,500
The United Kingdom GDP per capita (PPP) is : $31,400
Now, since you're a fucking idiot and probably don't understand that. Let's convert both values into pounds.
The US GDPPCPPP when converted to pounds value is: £21,922
The UK GDPCPPP when converted back into Pounds is: £15,824
You get that? Americans make more money than British people. About 1/3rd more.

From what you've said you obviously don't.
thank god that the dollar is so weak compared to the pound.
Forex means nothing. If the dollar was very strong it would cause huge problems economically or only harm exporters. If the dollar is vulgarly powerful it will result in less foreigners buying American products since the exchange rates set the dollar as too high, as a result, items priced in the dollars are more expensive when sold internationally. The yen's(spelling?) balance between weak and strong proves this.
Actually Britians make alot more money by comparision
This point is moot considering the US has a higher concentration of poor minorities in inner cities plus penniless illegal crossing the border by the millions. If we discounted minorities in both nations I guarantee you'll find American household stats would increase from what you listed.
British people will normally move to America because they can get so much more for their money because everything is so cheap,
Whether you realized it or not you just helped America's argument with this statement. If this is so, then the US would gain the benefit of all the British expatriates bardering over here and your motherland would lose all that money since it didn't circulate back into your own system. I guess this is one reason why the US has the largest economy in the world and why we get all the business.
even then there arn't alot of people moving to America anyway.
You're either a liar or misinformed.
Immigration boomed to a 57.4% increase in foreign born population from 1990 to 2000. The public started to focus on existing immigration law and immigration outside the law, especially the 7.5+ million illegal alien workers with 12+ million household members already inside the U.S. and another 700,000 to perhaps more than 850,000 predicted for each coming year. At issue was whether the immigration laws and enforcement system were working as the public wanted them to work. Illegal household members from Mexico alone were estimated at over 8 million.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_to_t he_United_States
So you don't consider 850,000 yearly as alot of people? Damn, I knew you were no good with numbers, but hell. Just get the fuck off the board.
$32,000 = £16,126.6232
£26,000 = $51,591.7075
So shut the hell up.
I'm pretty sure that money is quickly exhausted from how high your taxes are. Guess what? Taxes are low here. Perhaps this is why so many people move to the US. We actually get to keep our finances.
So basically with these few posts alone you've proved yourself to be a misinformed jackass with a penis-envy of Americans.

Actually it's moot because he was entirely wrong. Take a look at my last post. Americans make more money anyway. Cookie used an entirely wrong set of facts, and didn't even know what he was talking about.
When the GDP per capita of our countries are both set in an equivalent currency, Americans make about 1/3rd more than Brits per person.
$32,000 = £16,126.6232£26,000 = $51,591.7075
So shut the hell up.I'm pretty sure that money is quickly exhausted from how high your taxes are.
In addition to the fact that what he provided was wrong anyway. He was comparing HOUSEHOLD income to some unsourced claim that Americans make "$£32,000"
He used both the dollar and the pound symbol. So either he lied, or the number he had was actually in £32,000, not dollars. And therefore, either way, Americans make more. Because it was Americans that made £32,000 vs Brits that made £26,000.
And to clear something up for the last time. The value of the currency is meaningless when comparing wealth, because you convert them both to a single common currency in order to compare.

Car companies and manufacturing of any kind only make up a small portion of both our economies. Most money is made in the service sector. So the performance of the British auto industry shouldn't affect things much at all.
Almost everything we get is bought from europe and all the low-medium income now goes to Polish imagrants.
Dude... the US has anywhere from 12-30 million illegal immigrants in this country that suck up social services and don't pay taxes, while taking jobs away from poor Americans. The US has almost no tariffs or protections put on imports, giving other countries a huge trade advantage. Yet we are still doing well and still have the worlds most competitive economy. You can't blame economic performance on crap like that.
But anyway, don't try to make excuses for Brits making less money. First of all, you don't have to because you're comparing your country with the US. The UK still has a really high GDP and GDP per capita compared to most countries, but it's dumb for people like cookie to compare the UK to the US and pretend Brits make more.
