This topic is for all you photoshop users, new and old, that need help using the program and various techniques. It doesn't matter if you're a PS newbie with no idea about anything or an experienced sig artist looking to pick up some advice, you are welcome here.

It won't be just me giving out help. Anyone can drop by and answer questions. Hopefully if people come here asking for help the Art forum will be less clogged with whole threads JUST made for a simple question.

Yes I think this has been done before and yes I did PM MindChamber about this and he said it's ok. Also, there is a tutorial I made with a friend for anyone whose interested.

The simple way is the cloud filter. After using that you can tamper with the brightness. However you could download some cloud brushes...

If you want really good clouds, I would suggest working from real cloud images. Get a few you like, blend them, brush over them, change the colouring if you want, etc. Also, you can get good brushes from Deviantart.com

I ain't no photoshop guru so all I can say is BRUSHES! You can find them at DevianArt or just google it and ton of links will come up.

Oh, and realistic fire can be done multiple ways, but one of the quickest is to fill a circle with white at the base of where the fire should be. Then use the smudge tool to smudge the edges upwards. Make sure you do it slightly wavery, so that you get a natural look. Then use Outer Glow and Inner Glow effects to make it look more fiery.

That's a really good idea, it will clean up the art forum , good job.I've a question, do you know a good website or someone who has a lot of brushes on DA because otherwise you have to search and some people only have one or two that I don't wanna download.

Heres a good way :

1)Make a Black and white gradient from left to right
2)use filter>render>difference clouds (make sure your foreground color is black)
3)Negative your obtained picture by using edit>invert
4)color your picture by using image>adjustments>Hue and Saturation. check the "colorize" box at the bottom right, then change the Hue to whatever pleases you.

And making pretty banners with these pictures. :) Well try to make pretty banners... Anyway I can't draw very well so I stick to making sigs and stuff. Why is this a problem?
