A Dell
Dells are only good if you want something that you'll be doing work with. If you actually want to play any games that require a powerful system, you'll spend so much money adding better things to it that it would have been cheaper to build your own from the start.
And it's kind of hard to suggest something without any price range. Anyone can list all the highest quality parts, but it's not a whole lot of help if your price range doesn't extend beyond about $900.

comodore 64
is teh best i swear
nah but seriously if you dont know much about computers go to a store and ask them to build one for you its much easier
I heard that Commodore 64s are some pretty fast gaming machines AND they've gone down in price! :D
Really though, since Macs can run both Windows and OS X, they're good for security AND for gaming.
But if you really want a machine that's just built to game and only game, you're probably gonna want to get a custom-built PC... those can be pretty insane from what I heard.
But really, OS X is good, you should try it.. you don't have to worry about malware and it's pretty! <3
Do we REALLY need another "good computer" thread!?
Sheeeiittt, if you wanna get a good computer, just get anything that costs more than $4000 dollars, and has "8800GTX SLI" written in the specifications somewhere, it doesn't even have to be SLI.
I could tell you but it won't be true tomorrow
A computer that runs fast i a good computer to me and one that can hold a lot of stuff you need a serious computer for a serious gamer
i love bees
Fuck speed if you can get over 50fps you want performance. For instance the Playstation 3 clock speed isn't as fast as my computer but when comes to performance its a god when compared.
or you could get a geforce 8800 they're about the mid-range price and pretty good
In my opinion, a really good computer is:
A Belinea 102035W 20.1'' Monitor,
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Processor,
Mouse A4Tech X750F,
Keyboard Logitech G11,
2x Corsair DDR2-800 RAM Memory,
Asus P5B Deluxe Motherboard,
DVD RW: 20x LiteON
GeForce 8800 GTS video card,
Creative X-Fi Extreme Music sound card.
2x 400GB Hitachi hard disks,
2x 74GB WB Raptor hard disks, (couldn't find a picture)
And a combined floppy and memory card reader. :)
All of this, costs about $4500.
Not so shabby, huh?

That's a great computer, I'd change to a quad core and add another geforce 8800 if you have enough money for a beast
I've got a dell XPS 600 with a 19 inch monitor It's quite good and never lags even when I've been playing all day.
(Back from the dead!)
Thanks to TheWolfe for letting me steal his sig.
