Ok imagine maybe 10-20 years into the future and pretend that gayness is perfectly accepted by all.
Now obviously it will make it's way into every aspect of life and will become just as normal-sounding as women wearing dresses and men wearing pants.
So obviously there will come a time when kid cartoons will be made...
Imagine this haha.
Imagine if, in the Transformers movie, Spike's son had been adopted by Spike and his gay lover, the nerdy guy in the wheelchair.
Or imagine G.I. Joe episodes where Sergeant Slaughter kisses Duke on the cheek.
Seriously, this is 50 shades of creepy, right there :O
But imagine if, in the future, cartoons were like that.
:o
In the meantime let's just think of more examples from kid shows. Obviously the smurfs could have some wild episodes. And He-Man. Imagine if instead of Teela, it would have been some sort of ...like.. other Prince Adam or some shit. And they would frolick and transform into muscled greasy men for like 20 minutes while they beat off Beast Man, and then Adam would kiss his manboy lover on the cheek at the end of the show and blush.
haha This shit amuses me to no end.

The new wonder twins...
This would generate an entirely new kind of wonder-twin-transformations-related fan fiction.

Which he actually uses to bake fancy pastries for his friend's upcoming birthday party. There will be Shiraz and ice Cider for everyone who brings a scrapbook highlighting the best moments of 90's boy bands.

But I was sort of being serious though...
That's what kids might be watching on tv ( maybe ) and I guess to us, it seems pretty frickin' weird.

Well in our society kids all stay apart, but imagine the sky-rocketing rate of teen sex if kids were brought up thinking it's alright to fuck anyone.
They'll enter high school with all their guy buddies and guys being guys, they'll probably just fuck each other instead of wasting time knowing chicks.
Something weird like that.
OH NO WAIT SORRY, GAYNESS IS 100% GENETIC SO THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN sorry

What'll be even better is when they remake all the old Donald Duck cartoons as soon as incest becomes acceptable.

Well, seeing as how a lot of kids cartoons choose to avoid sexual matters alI together don't see how gay acceptance will drastically effect your Saturday morning cartoons.

Pretty sure the Japanese already have a bunch of cartoons on different sexual tendencies already widely circulated (LGBT respectively). And with most things Japanese, it's only a matter of time before it hits the US.....

I dont think that situation will happen before the fall of the US (oh it'll happen eventually). People are happy right now, just tolerating or bashing gay people. Obviously in the scenerio you presented, being gay is as natural as brushing your teeth. Well I would be curious about how all the big religious people would react to that.
Any mention of being gay, and children in the same sentence sends out the religious community with torches and pitchforks, so unless somebody convinces people that religion and the beliefs associated with religion is a big waste of time, you'll never see that happen.
BTW, maybe I was too serious with how I went on about replying to this...but I like to think of those scenerios.

I really don't know what are you trying say--
Okay. You're unnerved. Point taken.
So what?
Are you trying to say that it's bad for kids to know homosexuality?
Is it bad to put gayness in cartoons?
What?

If you're pretending that you would find it perfectly nomal to see Prince Adam get a kiss on the cheek from Man-Teela or Link trying to get Man-Zelda to kiss him in a cartoon today, then you're a big fat liar.
That's what I'm saying

Well, things change over time. It's like how it's not weird to mention cars and phones in serious songs, but mentioning computers or the internet would still be weird.

Oh my god. Cartoons telling kids that they should accept people who are born different from them. This atrocity must be prevented.

I'm not saying anything--
I'm trying to figure out how is this political.
"I'm freaked by it." Is something that happens to lots of people. Hardly political.
But if you were saying that we shouldn't have gay cartoons... then that something else different.
However,
I hardly believe that if there was a gay cartoon or children's show-- it wouldn't be so blatantly sexualized. Heterosexuality isn't sexualized in childrens show... It's not like these kids shows show parents having sex to show the world that they're straight.
And there's been gay characters in children's shows before... I think the more recent event was with Postcards from Buster (the bunny from Arthur has his own spinoff)-- And he showed a lesbian couple.
And, from what I can tell,
it wasn't like they were carpet munching and kissing.
And really,
this fear that gayness in children's media will be overtly sexualized is unfounded.
Gayness, I know for sure, will be present. And it will be stronger in the future.
But not in the way that you imagine it.
